Hey bugkiller,

I just went back and read the Mark 2 account.

After having read it, the NASB footnote seems to me to be a cherry picked statement divorced from the context to support a false teaching.

Jesus stated the Sabbath is made for man. He did not say it was made for the Pharisees or the Jews only. He said it was made for man.

The sabbath was given to Israel alone as a sign of the covenant. It it was given to everyone it can have no special significance for Israel. If Jesus meant the sabbath is for all mankind He goes against Moses and is a false teacher.
