  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't think they're much alike. I'm not too fond of John Mayer but I like Ryan Adams. I think he's much more guitar-driven. Although his recent stuff is more pop-y, there are some great tunes on Rock N Roll and Love Is H**l. He does a great version of Oasis' Wonderwall on the latter, and Burning Photographs is a great tune on the former.

I reccomend Love is Hell (Part 1&2). I also enjoy Rock N Roll and Heartbreaker.

Yeah, cheers to Arwen for nailing the difference between him and John Mayer.

As to the lady following, a guy friend actually is the one who introduced me to his music. *gasp*

Hilarious, and oh so true. Apparently, a few years back at a show there was a heckler in the audience asking "Bryan Adams" to do Summer Of '69. I don't think Ryan broke a bottle over his head, but I believe he actually walked off the stage and refused to continue.

Ryan Adams AND John Mayer are completely different. Yes, I do like John Mayer, but Adams has an edgier, rougher sound. My current favorite right now is "Is This It." I believe it's the first song on Rock N Roll. I also really like So Alive, his cover of Oasis's Wonderwall, and Sweet Carolina (or whatever the name of that song is) :)
