I am not Baptist, but any search of previous posts by me here or elsewhere will find that I am VERY friendly of the traditional Southern Baptist viewpoints. If however y'all believe this post is offensive I would gladly delete it. This is NOT a trolling attempt.

I listen often to Janet Mefferd radio online. It is my favorite radio show. Mrs Mefferd seems to have a problem with both the veracity and intent of Dr Moore of the SBC and I was wondering what y'all think. According to Mefferd he dissed Christian talk radio with a broad brush and when asked to explain Dr Moore claimed he was to ill to do so. At the same time he was supposedly resting and did not go on a Christian talk radio to clarify the comments; he found the time and health to go on a secular radio show to further denigrate conservative Christian talk radio. Mrs Mefferd id miffed (alliteration intended).

My own PCA denomination, once very conservative and thus my friendlyness to wards the similarly conservative SBC is currently drifting towards liberalism. So my own house is constructed of VERy fragile glass. I am truly not trying to cast stones. However, I've detected a bit of a liberal drift in the SBC as well. As I told my pastor, if the PCA and SBC keep drifting towards liberalism, where am I going next? I am sick and tired of compromises on Genesis and various other accomodations to the current culture. To me infant vs adult baptism is a minor point compared to capitulation on Biblical inerrancy.

Anyway, here's a link, and if this post is inappropiate, I will take it down.

If you're basing your opinion of a "liberal drift" in the SBC to Russell Moore's comments, you're going to be terribly confused by the time you are done. Moore, since taking his post as Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission president, has alternately 1) taken Pope Francis to task for failing to preach biblical justification, 2) criticized liberal and moderate Christians who would water down the biblical view of homosexuality, 3) drawn heat for saying that Christians should be the first to stand up against efforts to prevent the construction of mosques in American cities, and 4) dissed the "war on Christians" arguments that are rising more frequently and more loudly.

Moore is his own man, and won't be categorized as "liberal," "conservative" or other moniker. He is, more importantly, living according to Galatians 1:10.

And there is no "liberal drift" in the SBC. In fact, if anything, it is becoming more conservative.

Dr. Moore must have heard something from the Newsboys:
Wherever we go, the bees behave
In the treetops, squirrels smile and wave
It's a curious thing
And it's humbling
