Russian forces seized <a href="https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/28572/b-52-bomber-made-run-straight-at-russian-occupied-crimea-during-long-range-mission" target="_blank">this region</a> from Ukraine in 2014 and the Kremlin subsequently annexed it. </p><p></p><p>Some military movements in the same general region had been observed earlier the month and appeared to be related to a previously announced exercise.
