  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Shoulda known I was talking to a Word of Faith person. Name it and claim it.

Actually, you can "name it and claim it."

However, there is sort of a catch.

When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. -- James 1

When I was active duty, I learned I could ask my commander for anything he had authority to provide--if I could demonstrate to him that it would accomplish his mission more effectively.

The same thing works for Christians. If we are fully involved in executing our fraction of the Lord's mission when and how He has instructed us, we can ask for what we need in that endeavor, and the Lord will give us what we need to carry out the mission.

Let me ask you....your profile says you're a Christian.....what do you think God is saying from your knowledge of scripture? A lot of people have given you here what they think but what about you....and again from the scriptures.

"Luck?" Do Christians do "luck?"
Not sure.......I don't know what your definition of a Christian is. I was speaking to one who didn't believe in trusting God to heal......so closing with anything related to God seemed pointless.

How does this work with healing? Well God only heal for sure if we are going on a mission after?

God didn't miraculously heal Paul or Timothy or Epaphroditus...so maybe not even then.

It depends on what He needs.

Jesus is about His mission. People want to ask, "What's God's plan for my life?"

God's plan for our lives always begins and ends with the mission of Christ and our fragment of His mission.

Sounds like prayers for healing is a bit of a guessing game for most......so for most it is best you put your trust in the doctor, as they will al ways be there and available to help without caring about what your plans are when you leave them.......as long as you have the money.

-I don't believe this, by the way. But it is the thought of many and I find no fault with it.

personally, I don't run to the Dr for everything as believe God created our bodies with an amazing ability to heal

we eat blueberries and other antioxidants foods, cruciferous veggies, etc
deep breathe when get stressed such as when driving to help keep my BP nl

not on any meds; sometimes take baby aspirin

In times of a life threatening and possibly curable illnesses, injuries, and diseases, most all choose medical treatment (even the most religious). There are reasons for this.

No. It means don't do things that put Him in a situation where He MUST act. For instance, refusing medical treatment for a life threatening illness (e.g., a ruptured appendix)

Here's an interesting question...

For all the individuals in human history, whom chose prayer to treat a ruptured appendix, in lieu of medical treatment, how many have survived?

Then compare the results with the following Biblical verses
Matthew 7:7, Matthew 21:22, Mark 11:24, John 14:13-14, John 16:23

aah sorry! I'm asking this because I run to the doctors all the time :\ I thought I was doing wrong

I believe in God healing but also in going to a Doctor. Consider a part of a wrong that you might even be doing is not getting a second opinion from another Doctor if one says something serious is going on. Also once a Doctor gives his diagnosis do some study yourself on all your options as in different treatments or medicines that have worked for others. Also if your doctor gives you a prescription make sure the Pharmacist has filled it right and didn't give you a wrong drug. I caught them on that one time.

It says Christian because I have accepted Jesus as my Saviour, however my knowledge is very limited compared to most on here. I prefer not to rely on my own knowledge lol

You, my friend, will get a plethora of conflicting answers on here, or anywhere really. But at the end of the day, it is you, and you alone, whom decides which answers 'appear' to make the most sense to you.

there's going to the Dr because one needs to and then there's running to the Dr for every little thing which is often unnecessary

only you, harko, know what is the truth re yourself
The truth is I didn't know whether to put sickness with doctors or God. I know now that its both
