I'm seriously confused.

Erwin and JeffreyLloyd seem to be saying two exact opposite things...

I hope you're going to make all of this clear to the mods Erwin...otherwise its going to be the mod's personal opinions that are doing the moderating and not the rules. That's already happening with saying certain words that arent censored.

Anyway, this thread is going way OT - what we are discussing now has little relation to the rule revision which actually relaxes the posting of the restricted topics, and in fact, reduces the restriction. The rule neither condemns nor support any of the issues - the rule merely is there to assist in the regulation of such discussions between members.

I think this is what we are not understanding .... how exactly does it relax the rules? May we talk in our own fora, for example OBOB about these topics, in order to teach people of our teachings on them? Or is it still forbidden to do so?

Not at all. Jeff is a Catholic and as a Catholic he has strong views on such issues. He will obviously moderate the OBOB (Catholic) forum like that. That's fine. Other forum moderators may have different views and will moderate their own forums as per their church's view. There can never be a "one size fits all forums" approach for all the forums we have.

The bottom line is that the rule will approach any promotion or objection in the same manner - they get restricted to the 3 forums.

Do you actually know what the rule was BEFORE the revision???

The answer to your question is yes - you can discuss these topics in ANY forum as long as you are NOT DEBATING THE MORALITY of those topics.

Before the revisions, ALL posts related to these topics, no matter what, had to be in those 3 forums only. Now, only the DEBATING MORALITY posts need to be in those 3 forums.

Is it clear now???

I'm simply saying there are things that remain between a person and God, and aren't my business. We are ALL sinners. The Catholic church is against all sin, why focus on one to the exclusion of others? Homosexuality didn't even make the 10 commandments, but envy did. Who hasn't commited that sin?

Seriously though Yes I knew the rule that is why I am confused, I thought you were saying something then you came in and said something else and with all the other mods in here I cannot make heads or tails anymore I just wanted to know so I do NOT do anything wrong AGAIN .....Please forgive me Erwin if I want to know exactly what it says and does not say so I do not get myself into trouble ....

It will be interesting to see when a thread dealing with these topics will NOT veer into a debate on morality!

Erwin - are moderator's morals more valid and true than your own or those of the site?

CF is a website - by itself it is neutral. It is the people and the membership that has opinions on issues - CF as a site is not here to tell Christians what to believe or what not to believe - Christianity is much too big for that - Christians are expected to study the Bible for themselves to discover the truth for themselves - this website is not here to tell Christians what is truth. Sure, the PEOPLE who come to this website may discuss what is considered truth, but the site itself will have no objective stances on these issues, basically because this site is merely a vehicle - you drive it where you believe God wants you to drive it.

This does not mean I don't have my own opinion on an issue. Nor does it mean that each individual member or staff member does not have his or her own opinion on an issue. The point is CF as a whole, as a website, as a community, cannot have just ONE opinion on an issue - this is a community, and as such, would have the opinions of all of its members, whether you as an individual agree or disagree with it.

This does not mean this site is going to become a non-Christian site - far from it - the membership are by far mainly Christian - it is important to note that these Christians do come from different backgrounds - this site is not here to replace God, the Bible or their church and tell them what to believe.

Why take a stance on the nicene Creed then?

Why the How to become a christian link at the bottom?

Ok, so no debating the morality OF those topics besides in the designated forums. So disccusions on stuggles with those problems, ways to reach out to those who have those problems, and discssions on rather or not the Church is being loveing in regard to those topics. Ok. Also CF is not pushing an agenda. Excellent. Agendas always get in the way of expressing God's Love.

However I would have to highly highly disagree with some of the type of debating here. There is a lot of arguments appealing to numbers (unsupported numbers at that). That is no way to win an argument. Truth is truth even if no body believes it. A fish is a fish even if everyone thinks it is a dog. I have personal beleifs that I can back up in regard to those topics and I do not have to appeal to the arguements that such and such number of people support what I support.

There's a difference between homosexuality and homosexual sex. The latter is quite clearly prohibited by scripture. The former isn't.
