Staff have discussed this for several months and Rule 4.2 has been revised.

[nooff]

The main difference that if a post or thread is not about the morality of the listed controversial topics then they can be posted anywhere on CF.

Also, you only need to post evidence if you are debating the issue.

We'll see how things pan out with this revision.

Ack! We should be able to discuss the morals of these actions anywhere on this forum. Your current rule fails to glorify God by not allowing truth to be spoken freely.

Homosexuality is morally offensive to God and Christians. Abortion is morally offensive to God and to Christians. Extramarital Sex is morally offensive to God and to Christians, etc.

Will you delete these truths or will you stand up for what is correct?

Those topics are not debatable for us, since Abortion is evil. That's basic Christian doctrine. So there can be no debate about it.

It's sinful and evil. End of story.

Anyone who tries to debate it will be warned. Same goes for every other subject.

Well then, we agree on something. If the rule is saying that we can discuss these things and not argue for the moral neutrality/righteousness of say abortion but only denouncing it as aberant to the word of God then I retract my above post and give you props Erwin. Is this what this rule is saying Jeff? If it is then I read it mistakenly by thinking that "no debating" equals no discussion of it either positively or negativly. Perhaps that should be made slightly clearer.

4.2B violation :p^_^

Not unless you say it's immoral, that's the point. :p

I hope not but it would not surprise me.

Oh, I'm pretty certain it applies to both sides, this isn't Rapture Ready or Free Conservatives.

Let's use abortion for example.

You could talk about a any pro life topic you wish. But as soon as someone starts saying how "abortion is okay in x, y, and z cases" then it breaks the rule and can be removed/moved.

We wanted to stop the promotion of these controversial topics. This should fix the loophole of members getting reported just for talking about these subjects but not promoting them.

Haha, bet that will save you some time ;) But it wasn't a loop hole, it was the rule.

People should not be allowed to promote these things anywhere on a Christian site that proposes to glorify Christ whether in Liberal "theology" or otherwise. Thats still a problem that still needs to be corrected.

And likewise, if someones talking about a pro-choice topic, anyone who comes and says "abortion is wrong" breaks the rules and can be removed/moved?

There can't be any pro-choice topics to begin with.

Um.... I don't see anything about promoting in the rule. It reads to me as saying that discussions tangential to those topics are allowed in relevant forums as long as they don't turn into "Is X sinful/moral?" debates.

And the same is true of condemnation is it not?

I suppose you're right that promoting abortion would necessarily involve the morality of abortion, but it seems to me that "abortion is evil" threads would involve the morality of abortion as well.
