People are worried about climate change and rising oceans. The ice caps are melting. Summers are hotter. Storms are stronger. Do the scriptures give any indication of why this is so? Is there anything people can do about it?

(Revelation of John 11:18) The nations raged,
but your wrath came,
and the time for the dead to be judged,
and for rewarding your servants, the prophets and saints,
and those who fear your name,
both small and great,
and for destroying the destroyers of the earth.

We should be better stewards of our planet that's all I am going to say. No, the human race is not going to go existent as some people will have us to believe. God is sovereign.

We should but how?

I can't give you an exhaustive list but we should apply the greatest commandment 'love for God and love for our fellow man'. If people really took that seriously in everything they do we would be better stewards of the planet.

An example of being a good steward is that when possible instead of driving your non-electric car to work you can cycle instead. You get exercise which is good for your health and you're helping to reduce our overall carbon footprint.

Ought such considerations influence one's choice of party to vote for?

I would think so. However, personally I am rather politically apathetic.
In Australia voting is compulsory so here everybody, almost everybody, votes. Christians included. I suppose Jehovah's witnesses may not vote and people without citizenship too.

Isa 30:26 "Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound."

This could force us to begin the literal fulfillment of

The current drought began in early 2017. That was the year of decision regarding same sex "marriage". The world got its way, but God has the last word. The present drought is apparently the worst in 800 years. I don't know how they arrived at that conclusion. What I do know for sure is that the rainfall where I live has been declining since 1995. I also know that the church has been declining since the so-called Toronto Blessing swept much of the church. I expect nothing from the world. God's judgement begins with the house of God. Christians need to repent, turn from their wicked ways (which includes divisiveness) and turn back to Lord Jesus. I believe that we are seeing what Lord Jesus said, that the love of many will grow cold. The word Jesus used for love is "agape". The world does not exhibit agape love, so it applies to Christians.

Rev 11:18 "destroy those who destroy the earth" certainly condemns pollution. But the climate of Earth has been warming since the ice age. And before the flood the climate overall was much warmer than it is today - no polar ice caps at all.

So while I do agree with condemning the practice of polluting the Earth - I don't think the climate "Change" narrative is including all the facts that pertain.

What's ruining the earth is Satan and his doomsday prophecy without a messiah. Trust in Christ and the sovereignty of the Lord not man !

What 'ice age' are you referring to?

The Pleistocene Epoch is typically defined as the time period that began about 2.6 million years ago and lasted until about 11,700 years ago. The most recent Ice Age occurred then, as glaciers covered huge parts of the planet Earth.

You seem to be an old earth advocate.

Are you saying that climate change is not even occurring, the narrative is all wrong?

Millions of temperature measurements around the globe everyday, show no rise in temperature?

Why do you say that there were no polar ice caps before the flood. When do you think that was?

The current drought began in early 2017. That was the year of decision regarding same sex "marriage".
The previous drought ended in 2103 and we are in another and deeper drought now. Rainfall continues to fall because we don't get any rain from low pressure systems over the southern states.

So why have the low pressure systems that used to give us rain, disappeared altogether?

What changed was the low pressure systems are contracting, further and further south, and away from the Australian continent. You can visually confirm this by observing weather maps from the sixties, seventies, and eighties. Compared to weather maps from the last twenty years.

So droughts must become more severe over time. Even the heavy monsoonal rainfall up north is also in serious decline.
The world got its way, but God has the last word.
God spoke in the beginning, has been talking through earth's history and will speak at the end. So it is not true that God has the last word.
The present drought is apparently the worst in 800 years. I don't know how they arrived at that conclusion.
I would not regard that as an accurate statement certainly not supported by any department of meteorology.

I probably would be hesitant to even refer to the present weather event as a drought. As droughts break but rainfall is declining and this drought is more of a permanent phenomenon.
What I do know for sure is that the rainfall where I live has been declining since 1995. I also know that the church has been declining since the so-called Toronto Blessing swept much of the church.
Unconnected events.

The church was declining way before the Toronto blessing, the church decline is accelerating.
That is correct.

Those that are worried about climate change must have never read the book of revelation when God destroys the earth.

Climate change is nothing more than a hoax to bring in the new world order.

No need for naming calling. I’m not a climate change fanatic but I believe we need to be aware of our carbon footprint. It extends to other things like buying an electric car if you can afford it. Humans like to think the world has an infinite amount of resource but in some cases it doesn’t. Also, because of some of the things we’ve done as humans, cutting down trees and similar activity we’re reducing the environment in which some animals live and as a result some ecosystems are being destroyed because of that. The divine mandate given in Genesis is that we should take care of the planet not exploit it and the animals for our selfish gain.

Ahh yes. I remember learning about that a few months ago. But isn’t it compulsory in the sense of use it or lose it? If I recall correctly it’s not like you’re getting fined because of not voting.
