Sammy Wammy Poo. So good to see you again after you RANDOMLY DISAPPEARED. :|

Hey Ninjitsu! Good to see you too. And I did not RANDOMLY DISAPPEAR as you claim. It was a pretty well advertised process of me leaving, I thought. I am not really back, just playing A Grain of Sand. But maybe when school is over (so like three years or so) then I might branch out again.

I proposed my idea for an Avatar prequel RP back in June, but Kyira has recently posted that she's interested.

If anyone else is interested, the RP is called Avatar - Before Aang.

We'd need four more people to have a full party of characters (unless some players use more than one character), but we can begin with just, say, three people and hopefully increase in numbers as we go.

*Shadowseldil enters the forgotten thread. He blows dust of the filing cabinet. Opening a drawer, he shuffles around some folders. A few of the inactive members he places back under the active list with a half-hearted smile. Others, he takes with a sigh and places them in the Archives file. A few names, with deep sadness, he takes the folder and writes the word, "Left" next to the word, "Inactive." He knows these people have left CF, that is no question, but he clings to hope, hope however vain, that they might one day return. Next, he opens the drawer beneath it. It once contained a list of threads, threads with some life in them, although sputtering life. With a heavy heart, he empties the drawer of its contents.*

Well, when I started this, I was hoping that it would be worth keeping constantly updated. However, with so few people around, I don't know that it would do much good.

What do you guys all think? If I kept it more current, would you use it to see what other players are starting up. I'll warn you that I can't update it every day, but I don't think that will be a problem. Not in this graveyard...

*Watches as Shadows works, fascinated by such fatherly actions.*

(Loved the description on that! It sounded RPG worthy!) I think some might pay more attention, but personally, I haven't been rummaging through the Filing Cabinet for quite some time. But I have seen some interesting threads on here, so I think of it as a reference for all new RPGs.

I think a lot of people, well, a lot of the people who are left, maybe all seven of them... they don't even bother to check for new threads; ergo, if someone was starting (or trying to start) something new, no one really knows about it. I realize that a lot of people are busy, myself included, I just sort of miss the bygone days where there was an excess of threads, when we used to have to yell at people for starting too many threads. If no one posted in your thread for a full twenty-four hours, you might find it a few pages back. Now, threads that haven't seen activity for nearly a year occupy the first page.

What happened to this place? I mean, I know why we lost people, between all the changes with For.ums, which chased a lot of people away, and the new syntax made a lot of people unhappy, but why haven't we ever recovered from that? The heart of this place is still the same; passionate writers. Writers who have at least some capability, and what they lack in skill they make up for in passion, passion which covers a multitude of grammatical errors. What more do we lack now that we had then? How do we make this place sparkle again?

*sigh* I'm sorry. I know I got off topic. I just wish this place could be like it was. I loved coming here every day. Now I could skip a week and find that not much has happened.

Anyway, I'm committed to doing my part. If this will help people find more active threads to be a part of, then I'll do what it takes. What do you think? If I kept track of the active threads, would you find that helpful?

I find this record interesting right now, but I doubt I'll be checking regularly. In my opinion it's worth keeping the player list reasonably up-to-date, but the thread list would be no more useful than actually looking at the various forums, which are updated automatically.

From my perspective, much of the coordination on this forum came from central chat threads that people would show up in to banter, so announcements could be made there without fear of being missed. Once upon a time Cheat and I were able to talk up a storm, so I'm trying to revive The Arena (though Cheat seems a bit more busy than he used to be).

when we used to have to yell at people for starting too many threads.
And that could be the problem. Yelling at someone for posting makes people not want to post at all. It does to me. Now I didn't see you guys yelling at anyone and you never did me so you might be exaggerating but I thought it might be relevant. But we had that problem at Quarrels and Quills with a couple of members that felt they should be able to dictate how and what and how often someone posted. And it gets old.

Well, it wasn't that people were posting too much, it was that there were maybe twenty new RP threads started every day. Every day. Most of them only made it about three posts before they died out. That was why we were telling people to cool it.

Here:
Quick Note! Circa Summer 2005

Circa here:
page 33 of the RP Forum. See through pages 36, and possibly prior.

I mean, it was never that we wanted people to stop, just that we wanted them to be more productive rather than doing something new for the sake of something new. But with the way things are now, I'd rather have it the way it was.

So what about it Lairson? Any chance we could goad you into doing things around here?

Hey! I know it's been a while since someone last posted in this, but I'm using it in the hopes that the people who check their User Control Panel, or check their subscriptions will look in on this. I'm trying to revive my old RPG, My Life Readjusted. It's my personal opinion that it is a good RPG, if given the chance. Granted, it's in the newer Reality forum, but it's not bad. Currently, I have the OOC set up so that you can find it on the first page of this forum. In the RPG, I have it set up that anything can happen, whether a new character is introduced, or something like that. The last post on page 4 in the My Life Readjusted OOC tells all that needs to or can be done.

Here's the plot:
A 15 year old girl is trying to readjust herself in a new place. When she meets her 5 friends, they begin exploring the towns private and hard-to get-to places. Maddie grows into the group leader/mischief maker. In select few of these places they come to hang out and tell stories. When they meet this farmer, whose land they explore at some point, they become friends with him as well and he tells them stories that they don’t know.

PS: You might also be interested to know that I am open to any and all plot twists or any other ideas that would make this RPG more unique and interesting. This is what we did before as well, with great success, too.
