Rough Week, Lesson Learned

This week started off rough! On Sunday my pharmacy wouldn't fill my prescription unless I gave them $275! It's normally $35. Come to find out, on Monday, that I have reached my maximum for the year and I have to pay for the rest of my prescriptions for the year. My monthly bill is $724! Then, on Tuesday I read a letter that had been sitting on the table. It was from the IRS and said I owe $2700! Then, while I was trying to fill out the paperwork challenging the IRS, I realized that I had lost my wallet. Wow! Things really piled on!

But later that day I realized what the problem was. I don't think all bad things that happen to us are the result of us sinning. But in my case I think I had a lesson to learn. I believe God spoke to me on the issue of how I was treating my grandmother, who lives with us. I wasn't showing her proper respect. I was wrong. I have repented. I still face some daunting things, but at least God spoke to me as a result of it. He definitely got my attention!

Thank you for that confession. It isn't so easy to "own up" to those sort of things.
Likely the most important lesson to be learned ,you have learned. That is, that not all uncomfortable ,hard things that come upon you are chastisement for something you have done. But that is ALWAYS the place to look first. Many things happen to us for our education. Actually, even chastisement is not pure and simple "whipping". It is also for your education. So, the point seems to be that, no matter what untoward thing happens to us, they are all for our admonition and learning.
