  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Just a tip. JROTC in High School doesn't account for much in regards to College ROTC, or say a military academy. It does provide a bit of a leadership opportunity if applying for either, but not much else. So ultimately, if you want to do it and it sounds good, go for it. If not, it won't hurt you much at all, if any, to skip the JROTC program in High School. So for what it's worth...

Some schools do it right, but it always depends on who's in charge, especially in high school. One guy I know had a serious ROTC, working out and getting strong, but switched schools, and their JROTC just hung out all the time, like a big joke. Also I know some of the kids who do JROTC at the school near me are pretty overweight, and can't handle stress very well.

JROTC isn't the real thing. You may get a guy who runs it like the real thing, or someone who makes it into a big joke. I've never been in JROTC so I wouldn't know, but its only really worth joining if its run like serious business.
