  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My mom just got home, we have an older Italian friend who took a couple month trip to Italy to visit her family, and brought home some things. One of them was some dirt from Jerusalem where Jesus died, and another was a Rosary.

I am thoroughly confused by this Rosary and was wondering if anyone would know why it's different. It's 4 beads at the beginning, and then around the "ring" there's three beads, then one bead, three beads, then one bead.
So it's kind of like

... . ... . ... . ... . ... . ...

there are 27 beads total around the ring, and 8 single beads, plus the 4 at the beginning. I've never seen anything like this before, and would appreciate it if someone else knew and could explain it to me. :p

Thanks! :D

I was going to say it sounds like my SotC beads, because there are only three beads between each Station...but your beads aren't long enough...*shrug* It kinda sounds familiar, though, but that may just be the resemblance to my beads...I'll keep looking. :)

And a pic would be great!

How would you use an SotC? How does it differ from the Rosary (other than the number of beads)? I would love it if there were a thread (like this one) dedicated to different kinds of chapelets, how they're use, how they developed etc...

So, on something like that, does one just pray "Ou Father... For an increase in faith; Hail Mary... For an increase in hope, Hail Mary... For an increase in Charity, Hail Mary... Glory be.. Oh my Jesus..." for all three (or five in Seph's case) triads?

Here is a picture. :) Mine looks just like this except my beads are clear crystal.

The prayers that came with my chaplet used to be posted in the Chapel here, and have apparently been lost during one of our server crashes. :sigh: I'll try to get it reposted, but it looks like EpiphanyGirl has posted 'The Way of the Cross' in the Chapel. :) It is the same as mine, except for a couple of Scripture reflections and meditations at each Station.

Peace be with you!
