Jimmy Carter may not necessarily have been the most effective President.
But of all the US presidents that I've lived through - thirteen so far that I know about starting with Eisenhower (although I was too young to remember him) - I think Jimmy Carter had the most personal integrity.
As a side note the first time I really became aware of a US President was President Kennedy's assassination. It seems odd but "everyone" seems to remember what they were doing when that happened.
Meanwhile a far more effective Christian, CS Lewis, died on the very same day but his death went almost unnoticed as all the world's attention was focused on Dallas, Texas.
