  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Not that I would ever wish for someone to drop out of school, but the roommate I was referring to was an awful roommate. She smoked weed (both illegal and against our lease), she left dirty dishes out for weeks at a time, she left her trash wherever it happened to drop, she had a lot of strange men in our apartment at all times of night, she was loud and often drunk and she never went to class. I like saying people got what they deserved but she was asking for it.

my roommate last semester actually left a few days into the semester because she couldnt handle the stress of college life. I ended up with a new roommate at the beginning of the next week, and things have worked out well for us. Looking back on it, I really dont think I would have gotten along with my original roommate very well. We both got along fine, but I really dont think living together would have been a good situation. God really worked it out for me, and I hope he will do the same for you!

Unfortunately I've never had that happen with my roommates. lol One was quite the opposite... he never even left the room period!

Like mine. And he OWNS an apartment in town too, just didn't want to move out this year. GRRRR. I wanted a single with a king-sized bed.

Last year I think I would have rather my roommate not show back up, but she did. She wasn't there too often and it could have been worse but there were just some things that she did that I really didn't like. One was have her boyfriend sleep over, that was just a little awkward to wake up look down from the loft and see them on the futon together.
This year is better, there are just a few things that my roommate does that drives me nuts. I have an apartment this year, which is really nice and the girl I'm rooming with is kinda a friend from back home. But sometimes she doesn't think and it drives me crazy, she'll come home later and I'll leave the small light on in the kitchen, she knows it needs turned off but will never do it, I have to get out of bed and do it myself. Same thing with the trash, I think she has taken it out once, and never once changed the bag, she'll keep stuffing it fuller. And several other things, I'm glad she's living with someone else next year.

my roommate and i drink a lot on the weekends at the bars but it hardly ever gets too wild; last weekend we went to the gay club for fun -- we discovered awesome pizza at the end of the night and ran into a girl who went to school with my little brother back in the day. i love my roommate. we're like brothers.

Last summer, I had a roommate who moved out midsemester. I had the apartment to myself for the rest of the semester, and he had already paid his half of the rent. It was heaven!

Not to be seen as a complaint about my current roommate, whom I love dearly, but living alone for a change was a wonderful experience.
