  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have been interested in French for several years. From when I was eight I have been teaching myself and using a computer program. I feel like I'm stuck in a rut and I would love it if some one could help me along.
I still feel as though I am a beginner. Could some one help me with my French?

As said in another thread, I think the best way to improve in learning a foreign language is to talk with native speakers. Don't hesitate using this forum to post in French, or having a look at our profiles and get some IM addresses so we can chat (most of the languages I know I've learned by chatting with natives on the Internet). I would also recommend you to read books (novels or so) in French if you can. Beginning with children books and getting harder with time (as an example, I began with Narnia to improve my English)

I don't know any native speakers, maybe you mean talking to people on CF.
That's a bon idea to read a book written in French. I will try it.
I'm not that good at just writing in French, I can't seem to put sentences together the correct way. I'll keep trying.

I mean I am a native speaker (maybe it was not obvious) and my IM addresses can be found on my CF profile... so fell free to contact me.
