  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nice to read that there are some romantic fellas out there but still some who need to get the hint lol.

My fiance is thoughtful, he buys me a bunch of flowers every weekend, and sometimes a box of chocolates too. I asked my finace if he thinks he's romantic and his answer was 'Yes, like when I buy you batteries for your mini remote control car' :D I guess it is.... in a way?

I'm happy with the flowers though because I never ask for them, it's something he likes to do for me.

Well, My boyfriend can be very romantic, and just generally loving and caring too.

For example, the first time we met face to face, he brought me one of those chocolate roses and then took me to an icecream shop.

The second time we met, became the day we started dating, but it was also my birthday, and he went all out for me. You know, single red rose, stuffed animal, chocolates, dinner at the Outback... etc..

Then on our two month anniversary, he bought me two roses, to symbolize how long we'd been together!

He doesn't do romantic stuff ALL the time, which I'm fine with that, but every once in a while, he will do something sweet that I'm not expecting.

And on top of that, he's very loving, and respectful of me. If he can sense that I'm tense, he'll rub my shoulders for me, or little things like that. He's very affectionate. I love that about him.

I got a small package in the mail last summer, when my husband and I were seperate for the first time after getting engaged. It was about the same size as a box from the jewelers would be. so I thought it might be my repaired engagement ring. I opened it up and out came three pieces of Dove chocolate. I unwrapped one to find a note saying "you." I opened the second chocolate to see another note saying "complete." Naturally, after the third one was opened the chocolates lined up to say "you complete me." I still have the picture:

I really liked reading this thread. I'm such a hopeless romantic. Some of those stories are so sweet!

Me: Oooh pretty flower. PICK IT FOR ME!

Subtleness doesn't produce good results.

LOL!!! Your post really made me laugh. That is so funny!

There are some really sweet guys out there!
I think I got the best ^_^ (but doesnt every girl?)
My guy doesnt mind how romantic I get in front of people, if I hug him and tell him I love him, he'll hug me tightly and tell me he loves me back :) If I get stomache pains (which I often do), he'll hold me and rub my stomache till they pass :D He'll also pay my transport fares for when i come down to see him (I live about 2 hours away from him) - and thats about twice a week! He doesnt mind me going mushy and will beam and try his hardest to give back mushiness...its so sweet!
I think I have to be the luckiest girl in the world ^_^

I show up on time, work out, and hold down a good job. So far thats more then 99% of what most guys do. :)

I guess I fit into that 1% with you?:D ... Ok, so my job isn't that good by any standards other than a teenager's...

I don't mind getting mushy in public with my gf either. But if our parents are around and want us to keep it down, I try to. ...And it really sucks.

I love the You Complete Me chocolates! That's BRILLIANT! ... Good thing you didn't start eating them before you got the photo!:D I always bring my girlfriend chocolate, or some form of gift, but I never tried it like that before.

Hopefully this thread will inspire some of the guys that romance comes less naturally to. Heck, it's inspiring me!!

The most romantic thing I've done for my boyfriend, is when I went away with my family for 9 days, I wrote him 9 letters, and hid them around the place- the office we work in, friends' houses, my house... Each day I SMSd him the location of one letter. He absolutely loved it!!!!

On our one-month anniversary, we were at youth camp as leaders, which sucked because we have a policy against male/female leaders interacting to any point past friendly chatting. He'd ordered flowers, and had one of the cooks pick them up, and bring them all the way to camp for him. Then he stored them in the cool room (!) at camp for 3 days. At 5am on the day of our anniversary, he pulled me, very sleepily, into the coolroom and handed me a two page letter! Then he gave me the flowers. Sooo sweet!! The funny thing was, he'd planned to have the flowers displayed in the cool room, with the letter attached, then have one of our cooks send me into the cool room to get some milk, so I'd find the flowers! But he was too excited about giving me the flowers, so that plan kinda fell through, seeing as everyone else was asleep...!! I then went back to bed, and two hours later got up, knowing he was asleep, and baked him triple choc cookies. I handed them to him, still warm, in a bag I'd made out of blue wrapping paper and gaffer tape. Lol!! He loved it....

Then the other day I was at work and sent him an SMS just to let him know I was thinking about him. An hour later, he arrived, armed with a beautiful rose. He's such a sweetie!! Man, I've fallen hard....
