We write letters, send cards, send packages, write long emails, lovely phone calls.. and we're not in a LDR!
He plans special things for us to do, like he took me out to a really nice restaurant a couple weeks ago. I had complained to him a couple nights before that I didn't have anything nice to wear, and that I didn't think it was fair that he wore the same khakis and sweater when we go out to nice places and I wanted to look nice and wear a variety (I'm not talking 15 dresses, I'm talking I have 3 skirts!). I called back later and said that I had found something that would work and that he can wear whatever he wants, and his normal stuff would be fine. The next day, he went out and bought a new pair of pants and a very nice button up dress shirt! He didn't tell me he did this until I saw him take his clothes out of his bag! He looked so handsome!
I'll plan lil outings for us to do, or tell him that I'm making him dinner. We'll go grocery shopping together for the ingredients, but I won't tell him what I'm making! It's a surprise, and he loves it when I cook! And he cooks for me too! He's a great cook, and he knows that if we get married, we are definitely sharing in the cooking duties. We love cooking together too. It's such a good time to do the normal things in life, with my beloved. They aren't ordinary tasks anymore.. they're extraordinary memories.
This Friday, I'm picking him up from the airport from a loooong business trip. I'm going to bring one of our special mix cds, a card (and maybe a rose!), and then take him somewhere for dinner. I'm going to bring some sparkling grape juice, some plastic "wine glasses", and a blanket and take him to a beautiful lake or field and listen to the cd, drink our juice and dance and cuddle under the stars.
I think that's kind of romantic.
Why do I do it?
Because I'm absolutely in love with him, and I love doing thins for him to show him that. I love treating him like the beautiful, wonderful, amazing and lovely man he is.
*sigh... Friday needs to come sooner!!
