"For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God"
This verse struck me recently and as I usually do, I looked up the greek definitions of the key words. This is what I got, "For the looking forward towards, as if with out stretched necks, all creation is waiting with longing for the revealing/uncovering of the sons of God"
I found the word "manifestation" being defined as revealing/uncovering as interesting. It implies that the condition already exists, but something is preventing it from coming out. I know that it can't be a problem with God, so it must be with us. After all we are "co-heirs with Christ", we have the "mind of Christ" and we are in Christ and He is in us.
Part of the answer can be found in Luke 12:15 in the definition of the word "covetousness". The definition of the word is the will to have more, e.g. a larger portion, a better advantage, superiority. How much of our thoughts are given up to planning some way to get the advantage, to appear smarter than we are or that we know something that others don't?
