hey FJD,

define "nonsequitor" I've heard of it, but I don't understand how it's used in discussion.

"an inference or a conclusion that does not follow from the premisses." - Compact OED. I've always heard it used as not following from the prior conversation or comment, which is how I used it earlier. I think I may have misused the word now. :o

...and as I understand it, you're a lawyer, too?

[sign]No, but I play one on TV[/sign] Finishing off the evil 3 yr process known as "law school." So you're a lawyer? Wow. So I'm not alone here . . .

ETA: it's been raining for nearly 3 days, and we're getting high waters/flooding throughout Salem. I live about 1/4 mile from a creek, and we're having high water signs nearby. yipes.

That sounds really scary. Do you have anyplace you can go if the water keeps rising?

so, more like diverting a conversation, into another tangent...

ooops...I should'n't have added the "too" ...should be more careful of my grammar. :o
I'm not a lawyer, but I love watching Law & Order: SVU. (Go, Benson & Elliott!) And there was an old TV show called "Tess" a while back that had my fave deaf actress who played a deaf lawyer.

me too. shhh. it'll be our little secret. ;)

mum's the word...

so far, the rain had stopped...and I hope this will stay that way for the next 24 hours to let the some creeks around Salem drop down a bit...especially by my workplace~ we're sitting right next to it. double yipes. I'll go over to my folks' if it's not blocked.

It's headed our way. Not too fond of rain to begin with, it makes So. California look like a swamp. And the nutcases are aplenty on the roads.

Living in Tucson, Az. we get plenty of sun, its the rain I miss. We used to get real monsoons here, you could set your watch to them, and they would rain so hard that on a 6-lane divided street you couldn't see past the median.

Not good driving conditions. Praise the Lord that he sends His angels to protect us.

Well, folks I'm off. It's late, I'm tired, early and late day tomorrow . . . wow. G'night, and I hope to see you all here tomorrow night. If I don't, I wish you all a very healthy, happy, prosperous, and SAFE New Year, and that you are blessed with nothing but joy in the year to come.

Hi Tricia, I was wondering where you were. Gonna stay long?

Of course I am, going to stay until the bitter end. Am here listening to the sounds of smooth jazz and kicking it.
