Roll call (who are the Seventh-day Adventists in da house)?

Well we just went from 27FB to 28FB about 3 years ago... did we end up with a church-split on that -- that I have not heard about?

Something about the "highest authority on earth is composed of the church body assembled through all of it's represented delegates" with the idea that God would "notice" such an event and would work to influence the group to make right decisions when it comes to doctrine.

But as FB#1 - states ALL doctrine must stand or fall based on the test "sola scriptura".

So whatever challenge comes to that doctrine - has to come from a Bible based argument and then be tested for substantive content.

So, what changed from when we had 27 FBs to when we felt the need to have 28 FBs? Did the facts change or did the repository of authority change??

Well you have all the same 27 FB's as before -- you just have a new one (inserted as number 11)

As far as I can tell this is not new scripture - just a decision to single yet another teaching of scripture out - and provide a statement about it.

HI folks. I am a proud SDA and have believed in all the Fundies my entire life ... whether there are 27 or 28 makes no diff. But what makes the diff ... is how you interpret the words. Words make it difficult to interpret. What they mean to one person will be different to another. And the way I interpret them is most certainly different than most.

hi. I consider myself a 7th day adventist. Been one all my life of 55 years. My mom was a very well traveled and popular sda evangelist. I cant say i believe everything i used to believe concerning certain traditional teachings, but i believe the 7th day is still a special holy day 'made' that way by God. And i look forward to the 2nd advent of Jesus. I think egw had impressions from God that most of us dont, or at least we arent of the mind to accept them as such. I still love the name and missionary endeavors and health outreach and poverty outreach our church is involved in.

Hmm, guess I'd better intro myself seeing as I've been posting for a few days now . Name is Mike. Was baptized just about 1 year ago, April, into a Church I said I'd never ever become a member of. Guess God had other plans, after all, you can't fight a church full of people praying for ya can ya? Anyway, I here because I believe we are near the return of our Lord and the word needs to get out and we gotta wake everybody up. So, WAKE UP!!!

What a blessing to find some fellow SDA's. Am new here and will find this site a refuge when tired of the battles on other sites defending our faith.
Although I have reservations re some of the executive decisions which have compromised our traditional stand on so many issues, yet I am loyal to the church, it's foundational beliefs, and will be eternally grateful to God for revealing to me the truths that our church is so blessed with.
I agree with the message and intent of 3ABN. Delivering an uncompromised message to counter the counterfeit.
