so you are saying she was mother of Jesus the human??God was before Mary therefore She is Not the Mother of God(the Father)
Mary Was a mere woman Used By God, there by making her specal by God's power
Mary was the Mother of Jesus (God made Flesh)
Easy to understand.Jay2004 said:

Jesus was both human and God so how can that be??
It becomes important when discussing the nature of Jesus Christ.artofwar said:Just a question for you all?
who cares? does it make a difference in our christian walk?
How? how would it make a difference when he is the only source of salvation and not Mary>?It becomes important when discussing the nature of Jesus Christ
Because to vote against Mary being the Mother of God, is to subscribe to Nestorian Heresy that was anathemized by the Holy Church! If one subscribes to Nestorian Heresy they are in error and do not worship the one true God, for they have two Christs, and Christianity recognizes one Christ who is God.artofwar said:How? how would it make a difference when he is the only source of salvation and not Mary>?
I agree superficially, but by selecting this option one must not select the first option, for you can only select one option on this poll. Therefore, if one selects the latter option they cannot select the orthodox teaching which makes them a Nestorian. If one selects the first option then one can remain orthodox while still believing she was a "mere" woman. However, one must believe she is the Mother of God lest they be anathema.Bulldog said:"Mere woman" seems a bit ambigious to me, she was "mere" in the sense that she was an ordinary, average woman, but a chosen vessel and highly blessed by the Lord. After all, she was called blessed amoung women.

However, there is "only" in the latter choice, which would imply the exclusion of the previous option, no?Bulldog said:Which is why I'm not voting-a false dilemna has been created.
