  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I voted to overturn Roe vs. Wade, which was and is a horrible evil and a stain on this land.

God have mercy on us and our unborn children.
Maximus! What's happening, bro?! Good to see you, as always. I agree, abortion is a horrible evil. In fact, in my own personal opinion, I think it's one of the worst, if notTHE worst evil in the entire world.

Thanks, Tribe. I thought I read that somewhere. Do you know if she's a convert? A revert? Or just a plain vert? :)

She is a convert to Catholicism but IIRC she was born Catholic but never raised.

After Roe v Wade she was given a job at an abortion mill and after years of working there it began to take it’s toll on her she says she was horribly depressed and isolated from everybody.

A born again Church moved next door to protest and rescue babies and she struck up a friendship with the young daughter of the family who was evangelizing and even attended Church with them on occasion.

Eventually grace won out and she became a born again Christian but still had mixed feelings about being used by the pro life side like she was used buy the pro abortion people, so she laid low for years. Her conversion actually happened in 94’. I remember seeing her on dateline back then saying that she will not allow the life side to do what the death side did to her and that was exploit her. She said at that time she was in favor of abortion only for mother heath issues.

Eventually she was led into the Catholic Church and IIRC I think Fr. Pavone from Priest for Life was her instructor or spiritual director or something like that, any way, she converted and now is working full time trying to make right what was made wrong. She is also a 100% pro life now.

My roommate killed her baby about two weeks ago and hasn't stopped binge drinking since. I'm voting to overturn it. Abortion kills babies AND their mothers.

And for anyone who says something like "Against abortion? Don't have one", here's a bumper sticker that follows the same logic:

"Against air pollution? STOP BREATHING."

I listen to people who spew pro choice arguments, and I'm reminded of what one of our founding fathers said:

What I find particularly troubling is what someone else already mentioned earlier in the thread. That being how a professed Christian can be "pro-choice." Which is just a polite way of saying pro-abortion. Which is, simply, supporting the so-called "right" to intentionally take innocent life while still in the womb. This absolutely boggles the mind. Christianity is wholly and completely incompatible with this. Always has been. We see this reflected, generally speaking, in the Bible, in the commandment to not kill. And we see it, specifically, in the Didache, where abortion is specifically condemned. We also see it in the constant teaching of the Church. How anyone can not "get it" amazes me ... *sigh*

What your roommate is experiencing is common. And something the pro-abortion folks don't like to talk about; the psychological, emotional and spiritual suffering of the mothers. God help them.

I saw a neat bumber sticker once, too. Can't remember exactly what it said, but it said something like:

"Aren't you glad your parents were pro-life?" Or something like that.

Skip, the same way people say justify homosexuality. They look for what appear to be loopholes in the Bible. How one can lead a gay lifestyle and profess to being a Christian, I'll never understand.
To cut right to the chase, clearing away all the smoke and mirrors ... it's just another "authority" issue. As usual, people just seem to want to be able to do what they want, when they want, even to the point of taking innocent lives. I think the underlying sin, in most cases, is that of pride. Big surprise.

Indeed it is sad but it happens. I remember when I first became pregnant with my second child, someone I was working with became pregnant at the same time. She was unmarried and did not want the child so she aborted it. She quit working with us shortly after and I had not seen her until a couple of years later. It was in a bar and she was intoxicated and I went to say hello to her and the first thing out her mouth was "we were both pregnant and I killed mine." I was shocked and I felt so bad for this person. She was obviously living with the guilt.

Thanks, it's been like 12 years since that happened and I have not even seen her since and it happened right before my conversion, I wasn’t pro choice then or ever, but I did not know what to say to her at that time.
