  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My fav Rocky movie is Rocky V for the sole reason that Sage Stallone is in the movie. Yes, when I was a teenager I had a crush on Sly's son, and he has definately grown into a handsome adult

Rocky III is my second fav simply because Hulk Hogan has a small bit in it. Unfortunately for him though, this was probably his best movie role :o . Hulk Hogan is no Rock when it comes to Hollywood!

Without a doubt, the worst acting, story, and direction out of any Rocky movie.

Without a doubt......also my favorite. :)
Haha, I couldn't agree more. It makes me want to kick @ss and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of bubblegum.

In my opinion, none of the sequels even compared to the original. Rocky was just an absolutely amazing film. After the original, however, the films began losing substance... Rocky was no longer a bum. His goals were different. I just think that everything about Rocky came together perfectly, then the sequels tried to dazzle with exciting fight scenes rather than a great story and incredible acting. Now, this is not to say that I wasn't entertained by Rocky II - Rocky IV. Rocky V, however, was absolutely horrid, in my opinion.

I just wrote a movie analysis over Rocky for my composition class. Enjoy!

In Sylvester Stallone’s 1976 Oscar-winning masterpiece, Rocky, Stallone’s character, Rocky Balboa, is a bum whose only viable way to crawl through life is by boxing. His whole life was a million-to-one shot. Seemingly forever trapped in an endless cycle of less than mediocrity, he was given the chance of a lifetime. But for Rocky, there were more important matters – his relationship with the love of his life, Adrian.

Rocky Balboa began, without a doubt, a bum. The little pleasure he got throughout the day was fighting - for just enough money to live on – and visiting his love interest, Adrian, at the pet shop next door from the gym. Each night, he would come home to his shoddy apartment and spend time with his fish, Jaws, and his two pet turtles – Cuff and Link.

Through an unlikely chain of events, the heavyweight champion of the world, Apollo Creed, is left to fight a match with no opponent. To fill the void, he decides to give an unknown a shot at the title. This chance, the chance of a lifetime, was given to the Italian Stallion himself – Rocky Balboa.

When first offered the opportunity, Rocky turns it down. He wanted it to be a good fight, and he didn’t believe that he could give that. However, he is soon persuaded by the fight promoter, and agrees.

To some, the movie may seem to revolve around the fight – the world championship fight between Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed. Yet, I believe the movie to revolve around the love story. Every day after working out at the gym, Rocky would visit Adrian at the pet shop and tell her a joke. Obviously, he saw something in her that he liked. With the help of Adrian’s drunkard of a brother, Paulie, Rocky is given the chance to take Adrian out for Thanksgiving evening. He takes her ice-skating, an activity she enjoys. Afterwards, they make their way to Rocky’s apartment. Adrian, being the very shy and modest type that she is, was very uncomfortable alone with him. As she was preparing to walk out the door, Rocky stopped her. He took off her glasses and hat, and then told her, “I always knew you was pretty.” “Don’t tease me,” she sorrowfully replied. But Rocky wasn’t teasing. He really did consider her beautiful. Right then, he kissed her, and eventually, she kissed him back. That was the unusual beginning of the relationship of Rocky and Adrian.

As Rocky and Adrian first kiss, the acting by Talia Shire – Adrian – is incredible. She is very hesitant to kiss Rocky, and it shows. This love scene was one of the most uniquely beautiful of its kind in movie history.

When asked what Rocky is about, most people would simply answer, “a big boxing match,” or something of the sort. That is not the entire truth, though. For the near-plotless sequels to Rocky, that description accurately portrays it. Conversely, Rocky is a movie of a man overcoming unfathomable odds to fulfill his dreams. We should oft be reminded of such a story of hope, as hope can make you see.

The Rocky series is a one of a kind series, a phenom of a series actually. In that they were all great!
All 5 of them were extremely fun movies that moved me like no other series has ever done.
It is a series about a man and his dreams. Not just the dream of becoming a champ, but a dream of finding the women of his dreams. The dream of over coming his fears, the dream of training others to succeed as well.
In all fazes of a mans life, he has dreams.
And that is something everyone can relate to, that is why everyone loves Rocky. It isn't just a guy movie niether, in fact women love Rocky movies just as much as guys do.

I believe that God speaks to us through many different things, the bible, sermons, and even movies.
And to me Rocky and his training and battles, can be linked with the Christians spiritual training and spiritual battles.

My personal favorite Rocky movie was Rocky 3. It was fast, fun, and it had a very good point to it. That climatic scene on the beach with Rocky and his wife, when Apollo screams "WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU!! WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU!!"
Is as thick of a dialog and point, as you are ever going to find in any of the Rocky movies.

I have cried in every single Rocky movie. And even more than that, I have cried every single time I have watched them. And I have watched them all alot!
