  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't know if I'd go as far as to say I think it will be better. I do think Zombie has a good eye for brutality and he's great at connecting with his audience, so I'm looking forward to the movie. I tend to enjoy remakes though.

Zombie has said himself it's not meant to be a remake. Rather it's his take on the story.

I still haven't seen the original yet. :(
"His take on the story" is a reworking of the original story, thus no matter what he says, "remake" is a fitting term for that. But I agree it's not JUST a remake, like The Omen, which was just a shot-for-shot remake, he's actually adding and building onto the story like House of Wax did (to the extreme) and Black Xmas did (for better or for worse).
