Name: Rizzo Khalil
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 32
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 192 lbs
Appearance: If Lord Arnau's elite army, the Olumcai, had need of a poster child, Rizzo would be it. He's tall, very powerfully built, and dashingly handsome. His strong jaw and slightly Roman nose accent a high brow and large, blue eyes. His hair is a mop of dirty-blonde curls that always looks unkempt, an effect he embraces rather than discourages as he has the habit of running his hand roughly through his hair to keep it that way. His face is clean shaven, but his upper chest, forearms, and legs are lightly coated in a thin layer of blonde hair, though not enough to make him especially hairy. Being in the Olumcai for fifteen years, Rizzo has his share of battle scars, but they only add to his bold appearance. He wears a small gold hoop earring in his right ear, though when asked why, he just shrugs and says, "Why not?" He wears no other jewelry, but is always seen carrying a small wooden flute tied to his belt. The only time he doesn't wear it is when he sleeps and during a battle, or, of course, when he decides to play.
Personality: Rizzo's smile comes easy as he has a broad sense of humor. Though he prefers to be sarcastic and witty, he isn't above acting a fool to get a laugh. He's confident, but not cocky, and comfortable around most people, especially his fellow Olumcai. Though some consider him to be somewhat of a clown or a smark aleck, he is well-liked and respected by most, having proven many times that he also has a serious side--intelligent and cunning. And it's not hard to get him to be serious if the occasion calls for it. He's good at reading people, having had to know when to curb his humor at times out of respect for those who don't appreciate it. While he doesn't drink and gamble in excess, one can find him having a pint with the other soldiers and playing the occasional game of cards with them as well, though most of the time he'll be the only sober man left at the table, poking fun at the drunkest ones so the rest can laugh at them. Due to his likeable personality, he's very successful with the ladies, but prefers to keep it fun and flirtatious, avoiding serious relationships.
Background: Rizzo was born in Glahndur, to a fine jewelry maker and his wife. The eldest of five children, he was constantly being asked to look after the others when he was younger. Because his father was especially good at crafting fine jewelry and did work for most of the nobility in Glahndur, the family did quite well for money, though still considered middle-class for they were a working people. When Rizzo became old enough to work in his father's shop, he would make deliveries to the noble families at their estates, when they didn't want to come down to his father's shop to pick up their ordered jewelry. Thus, Rizzo became well acquainted with the wealthier families of Glahndur, even making friends with their children. One of his closest friends was Sayer Rimedur. Sayer was three years older than Rizzo, but the two of them found much in common and were often seen together either on the Rimedur estate or out by the lake, occasionally sneaking Sayer out of his estate and into the Glahndur city streets for a little bit of troublemaking. The two never fought….except over one thing: Rizzo's younger sister, Janelle. Only a year younger that Rizzo, Janelle was quite a beauty and had caught Sayer's eye. And while Rizzo loved Sayer like a brother, he was protective of his younger sister and didn't want to see her get hurt, Sayer having a bit of a bad reputation with women. And then one day, when Rizzo was seventeen, their fighting about Janelle turned physical down by the lake and they came to blows. It ended abruptly when Rizzo finally tackled Sayer and Sayer fell, hitting his head on a sharp rock. He was killed instantly. Distraught over the fact his friend was dead by his own hands and scared of repercussions from the Rimedur family, Rizzo fled Glahndur. A few weeks later, he found himself in Floresco, joining an elite band of soldiers that Lord Arnau had formed only two years previously, the Olumcai. The Commander, Hajari, took Rizzo under his wing, training him personally. From then on, Rizzo has served the Olumcai and Lord Arnau faithfully. He managed to push his past from his mind, instead concentrating on the life he has now, trying not to look back.
