Rise of Nations Anyone?

Anyone here play the RTS Game Rise of Nations. It's by Microsoft and Big Huge Games. I must say, it is unlike anything we (my brothers and I) have seen. It is impressive. Abosutely incredible. I can really see the difference in animation and quality from 2D sprite units to 3D units. When nuclear bombs go off, units go flying in the air; if a jeep is hit and explodes, the drive flies from the vehicle; tanks explode and shrapnel goes flying everywhere; and the smoke in the enlightment age engulfs the entire battlefield when musketeers fire! I haven't even touched the surface of this game yet.

Even on Easy the game is HARD - a lot to focus on all at once, that is why most of the time I play one Age at a time.

Yes, it is a great game indeed! I have the Cd with me as I speak (type? ).

I also like the wonderous blend of a lack of micromanaging and political scenarios. Terrain becomes less of a random add-on and more of a dynamic advantage point for the player. Towns are no longer simple buildings, they are influential centers of your land.

I know what you mean. The lack of micromanaging REALLY helps. I think that it is a great idea. It seems to me that they have finally merged the idea of Sim City with the excitement of tactical RTS's. The art is excellent and amazing.

What's your favorite age by the way? Mine is the Enlightment Age.

Played it through once.. Liked it..
Quite nice mix of civilization and rts..

It's nice. Played through once. The last battle was the easiest, since I saved all my cards. Started out completely overpowering my opponent.
