  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

While standing in line for over an hour at an amusement park I read, reread, memorized and tried to understand this statement:

"The righteousness HE requires is the righteousness HIS righteousness requires HIM to require"

later i had the chance to buy a t-shirt with that on it but decided not to cause if someone asked what it meant i would not be able to answer.

Do you think it is a true statement?
What does it mean?

My intepretation of this is that Elohim's righteousness makes him a righteous judge, and therefore in being a good and righteous judge He has to judge us without partiallity. If we commit a crime (sin) we have to pay for it, just like in modern court systems. Luckily, praise Elohim, our fine is paid in full through Yeshua's (Jesus') Sacrifice.

What scriptures do you think are relevant?

I am the righteousness of God through Christ comes to mind. Beyond that, I try not to wonder too much, rather to pray. Wandering and wondering sometimes keep us from know the Word of God, an area we've been studying in our spiritual warfare class. Just a thought.

Here are some scriptures that came to me after pondering and praying. God is truth and God is love. God is holy and perfect righteousness. If we are made righteous thru believing, then we have the mind of Christ. He could not expect anything less from us, could He? We have put on the NEW man (Christ) which is righteous.

1 Corinthians 2:14-16 (KJV) 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When we are baptised in Christ, the Holy Spirit comes to guide and teach us, and transform and renew our minds to be like Christ. We must be vigilent: be not conformed to the world, but open our eyes, our hearts, and the eyes of our heart (which is the mind) to the spiritual reality, for that is the ONLY way we can be renewed.

As we are renewed and transformed, we acquire the NEW mind of Christ, putting off the OLD mind of man.

Ephesians 4:23-24 (KJV) 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

The cool thing about what may first appear to be a pedantic argument (the questions posed in the thread) is that we acquire it all by simply believing the simplicity that is Jesus Christ!

Lonnie, I may be way off on what you were asking, if so, please toss!

Your sister in Christ,
EarthMomma
