  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Basic riddle game. I post the first riddle, someone answers correctly and gets to go. Then, someone else answers their riddle correctly and gets to go. And it goes on and on. So yeah... let's begin with something simple.

NOTE: While they don't have to be Christian-based, please keep them clean and within the forum rules! :)

Three friends check into a motel for the night and the clerk tells them the bill is $30, payable in advance. So, they each pay the clerk $10 and go to their room. A few minutes later, the clerk realizes he has made an error and overcharged the trio by $5. He asks the bellhop to return $5 to the 3 friends who had just checked in. The bellhop sees this as an opportunity to make $2 as he reasons that the three friends would have a tough time dividing $5 evenly among them; so he decides to tell them that the clerk made a mistake of only $3, giving a dollar back to each of the friends. He pockets the leftover $2 and goes home for the day! Now, each of the three friends gets a dollar back, thus they each paid $9 for the room which is a total of $27 for the night. We know the bellhop pocketed $2 and adding that to the $27, you get $29, not $30 which was originally spent. Where did the other dollar go????

And please, DO NOT use Google when trying to figure it out! While I cannot make sure you are being trustworthy, God is your witness! :)

Have fun and good luck! :D

Ok, like he said, anyone is allowed to post a new riddle. Which means I can....

You are on a road travelling to a village (Truthton), in which everyone ALWAYS tells the truth. But you happen upon a fork in the road, the branching road leading to Liarsville. Unfortunately, there is no sign pointing either way. You see a man standing in between the two roads and call him over. What question do you need to ask the man to get to Truthton?
This is SIMPLE! It may take a few minutes to figure out if you don't already know. Also, please give someone that doesn't already know it (if that's possible) a chance to answer it before you do!

Well, here we go. THere are a couple of correct answers (more than I'm putting here because I don't feel like listing them all!).

"Which way is Truthton?" - If it is a man from Liarsville, he'll point to Truthton because he doesn't live there, but he always lies. If he's from truthton, he will point to Truthton because he lives there and always tells the truth.

Anyone can post a riddle now! :D
