I suppose it's all a matter of perspective. I've read a lot of books, and believe Rick to be a very good writer compared to most authors.

I enjoyed reading his book. Yes, there are things in it that I don't agree with, but I haven't read a book yet, except for the Bible, that I haven't found something in it that I didn't agree with.

There were a couple of good points about the book Woobadooba, for example we are to serve God, God put us here for a purpose. A lot of people, Christians, don't know that.

I am reading "Steps To Christ". An Adventist Church in TN mailed me. I like it, it's a good read.

There were a couple of good points about the book Woobadooba, for example we are to serve God, God put us here for a purpose. A lot of people, Christians, don't know that.

Steps To Christ is a good book, especially the last chapter.

My favorite thought in the book is this one:

"Jesus did not suppress one word of truth, but He uttered it always in love. He exercised the greatest tact and thoughtful, kind attention in His intercourse with the people. He was never rude, never needlessly spoke a severe word, never gave needless pain to a sensitive soul.

He did not censure human weakness. He spoke the truth, but always in love. He denounced hypocrisy, unbelief, and iniquity; but tears were in His voice as He uttered His scathing rebukes. He wept over Jerusalem, the city He loved, which refused to receive Him, the way, the truth, and the life. They had rejected Him, the Saviour, but He regarded them with pitying tenderness. His life was one of self-denial and thoughtful care for others.

Every soul was precious in His eyes. While He ever bore Himself with divine dignity, He bowed with the tenderest regard to every member of the family of God. In all men He saw fallen souls whom it was His mission to save."-- Taken from the first chapter.

Rick Warren is a guy born into it. A guy whos dad put all this great info in his head. We as parents can do alot for this world just by teaching our kids christian values. To inherit the new kingdom all the gold in the world wont even help AMEN

With all do respect, you need to take all your personal, sick and vacation days and go on a Disney cruise. My husband worked with the profoundly retarded for 15 years, I have worked with the elderly. Naturally working with the eldelrly is nothing like working with the profoundly retarded.

woobad it is clear you choose to believe the myths that have been told for years rather than what the bible clearly says... it is apparent that you believe you know everything....

In fact, I even said some things in that thread that I shouldn't have said. The point is: We are all guilty of being unkind to each other.

You will notice, if you even care to take a look, in my post that I too admitted that I said things in that thread that were not appropriate. Hence, this is what I said in post #47 of this thread:

I'm not trying to justify my bad manners, but you are obviously trying to justify yours!

And this dialogue has become futile and unedifying at this point. Therefore, don't expect a further response from me.

Gee, I didn't post StormyOne is an evil bad guy. I posted he needs a vacation like a Disney Cruise. The burn out level for people who work with the retarded is high. The burn out level for people who care for others is high period.
