Anyone else watch this show? Hubby and I have worked our way through the first season, and while it's a bit cliche' in some ways, it has lots of fun, surprising twists that keep us interested. And a nice variety of characters to love/hate.

Who's your favorite character and why?

Who do you despise and why?

Got any theories about what's coming next?

I'm not sure I have a favorite character, but my least favorite is definitely Rachel. I just want to punch her constantly. Her whispery little voice and her blank stare and her weird mouth and her changing hair (honestly, whose hair goes from straight to curly and back when there's no power, no curling irons, no showers??). Anyway. Yeah. Don't like her.

I watched a good portion of last season and the start of this one. I've been too busy lately with a class to watch a good portion of this season. But after the class is over in May, I may try to watch some of the episodes on Amazon.

My favorite character is probably Zak. It's hard not to sympathize with him being in a position of power as a computer guru before the blackout, only to be reduced to being unable to defend himself or his wife after the blackout.

I don't mind Charlie. The show did seem to give her a somewhat unkempt hair look at the start of the second season. I agree though...the first season, her hair and that of the other women on the show looked almost as realistic as Katniss' perfect white teeth in the Hunger Games movie. :)

Zak - are you talking about Aaron?

Yeah, that's one thing I always notice in these "post apocalyptic survival" series; the womens' hair is always noticeably clean and just a bit mussed up to try and look ratty and dirty. It doesn't fool anyone lol. Really dirty hair, the kind a woman would actually have after not showering for a few weeks, looks NASTY and would not be mistaken for anything else lol. Charlie is an OK character, she's a bit one-dimensional to me, just another teenage heroine. Her facial expressions bug me, though; her eyes are huge and she always seems to be tilting her face down and looking up, which only makes the eyes look bigger. It's like whoever put this show together found the weirdest faces they possibly could.

I really liked Nora, and I was miffed when she got killed off.

Yes, sorry. It is Aaron. Zak is his real-life name:

The show's producers probably don't want to have the cast look too earthy and unshaven. The ratings might suffer. :)

I liked Nora too and wish that she hadn't been killed off. That seems to be a bit of a problem with the show. They establish an interesting story line, only to kill off a key character. It's like the complaint about Jimi Hendrix's guitar playing -- that he would hit one good note and run over all the good ones. As fan of Hendrix's experimental style, I disagreed with the complaint, but I understood the point though.

Oh how much time do you have ...

Along with the hair inconsistencies that you have noticed, how about the CLOTHES? It is, what, 20 years since the power went off but everyone is walking around in clothes that look brand new. How are brand new leather boots being made? Or, for that matter, guns? Or bullets?

And where does Rachel get her botox from? Her forehead is less lined than her DAUGHTER'S forehead.

I like/d Miles but the actor is so one dimensional. He has those cute facial expressions, but he only has so many and I've been seeing them every episode for a very long time.

The whole tension between Miles and Monroe has so many elements of bromance to it that it just ain't funny.

No, I don't like any of them. Okay, maybe Aaron. At least he has two dimensions unlike mom of the pursed lips, daughter of the murderous intent, uncle/dad of the rolling eyes, murderous friend of the bloodthirsty facial hair, son who never came from that man's loins, dad/granddad of the dodgy allegiances, and that guy who was Jiminy Cricket in Once Upon a Time and I just can't stop thinking of him in that role ... and his dreadfully wooden son. Who is now dead.

And I'm so tired of NBC jerking the show around on the schedule, I want to slap someone.

What's coming next ... Charlie will continue to have a dirty face because although she has access to a hair iron and electricity for it, she doesn't have soap or water. She and Rachel will continue to glare at each other/almost reconcile, then hate each other again. Granddad/dad will continue to look old and suffering. Monroe will kill people. His 'son' will continue to kill people. Miles will look sad when they kill people. Then he'll roll his eyes.

LOL! Ahhh Hetta, you never disappoint! Yes, I love how the women in these shows (society has crumbled and we're trying to survive, Walking Dead, Revolution, etc) always seem to have stylishly wavy hair. Nobody's hair is pancaked flat to their scalps like in real life when you haven't showered for a month. How are they keeping their teeth so white, with no running water and presumably no toothpaste or toothbrushes? How are the women dealing with menstruating with no sanitary products? Why are they not getting constant yeast infections from being hot, sweaty, and dirty? Why do they ALL wear jeans and boots in the middle of summer, when any real human being is going to wear shorts and sandals? Ok, maybe sneakers for practicality while running from zombies or raiding tents, but boots?? You'd have athlete's foot all the time!

And yes, Rachel's face is so... plastic... it's just blank. A quick google of the actress herself and there's a ton of plastic surgery going on, from the face to the boobs. And her voice, all whispery and raspy, like she can't ever take a deep breath. Stop it!

And yet, for some reason, I still want to know just what the heck happened with the power, and if it will ever come back on :)

I'm caught up with all of the shows so far and through them all my views on each character has changed. I like Arron only because hes nerdy. Although hes much more terrible at surviving. I think us geeks would do a bit better. ^_^

Without any spoiling...I have to say with the recent season and whats going on with a certain overall subject... I'm not sure which direction the show will go. I do feel overall I sort of lost some care as to what side, what person...etc takes control in the future. Assuming anyone does. Mainly because everyone seems to be spastic about how to think. Their bad, then good, then bad again, then sort of good, but then sort of bad.

I love Rachel because I liked her character on Lost. Shes strong and smart. However she seems a bit stale now. I also am sort of annoyed with the guy that plays Miles. Its like he only know how to respond with one of two same faces in every situation. So annoying lol. Despite some of the over acting/under acting and overly used plot elements, I still keep returning.

Thats the fun part about survival type genres. No matter how rough and tough things are, they look like they just came out of the shower and are perfectly clean, perfect hair, white teeth. Or in cases where someone just killed a bunch of people they are covered in blood and dirt.

Not even 1 minute later they come back on the scene 100% clean, even dry clothes if not new ones. Its impressive. ^_^
