CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yeah, I want to know why he's so highly rated that looking at his ID card allowed him to be taken onto a federal ship to be mended. I think he may be a secret agent of some kind. He knows how to handle himself in a fight.

that's one thing I want to know also. he also has knowledge of weapons. you know that guy in the Serenity movie who was trying to get to River and Simon? a few of my friends have a theory that Book used to be one of them.

Ahhh, an assassin turned monk, sounds like an rpg character that I would make. It would make sense though, maybe he's retired.
Ya know, I really liked that religion played a slightly back burner role in the series and the movies. In the first episode you see Mal kiss a cross on his kneck, but when the Browncoats are defeated at Serenity Valley it seems that he loses all respect for God or religion. You see that strain Book and Mal's relationship a bit.

Yeah biochemical engineering text books probably run a cool $100 a pop! I know my history books were only about $50 a peice but history gets added to every day and my books were out of date before the end of the semester.
When I first baught Firefly it was 19.88 for the whole set. Now list price is $49.00 for the box set, only cuz the movie came out and made it more popular. I wish they would give a discount to us die hard fans.

I have the opposite problem. I'm frugal, out of habit, and there's a limit to how mucch Social Security will let you have in your bank account.
I'd buy ya all that stuff just to shed the extra stuff, but I'm still frugal, and neither of you have done a thing to earn it.
