How come Wicca, witchcraft, paganism, occultism etc. are all making a massive revival?

Even in my lifetime the numbers of people taking up these practices seems to have exploded.. even while Christianity seems to have an overall decline... Why?

Because we are in the later days. In other words, the Bible predicted the future, and that future is happening now.

1 Timothy 4:1 (ESV): "Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons."

There were more seeds for this planted by the media and books years ago. Now it is coming to harvest. There are some Christian churches that are expanding. Perhaps the rest of the body of Christ should take notice because some of that expansion is a genuine and powerful gospel.

Well.. there are all sorts of strange groups out there.. and perhaps we are in end times.

I wonder if it has something to do with Christians themselves? Is their way of approaching ministry the problem? To modern? Too old fashioned?

I suspect this is more to do with the information age. There is just so much information about all these different occult practices out there and people get curious. It's no longer possible to portray occultists as strange oddballs... These are our friends, teachers, TV personalities. Nice, kind people.

Yes. Weak Christians produce weaker Christians.

Because sheer atheism is: 1) boring, and 2) doesn't in itself offer any plan for empowerment, whether of the metaphysical sort or the political sort.

People have a natural inclination to want to gain meaning in their lives, and a lack of belief in a higher power just doesn't cut it for very long.

Somewhere along the way.....................something's gonna fill that Void.

Yes.

Christianity is a spiritual practice. Most people tend to evolve into a routine over time even though they had an enlightenment from GOD. They shift towards the more religious instead of drawing closer to GOD for holiness.

We don't have the "true" gifts of healings ministries like we are suppose to, nor do we have ministries that are centered upon miracles. People want to see the real thing in church but keep getting a made up phony thing instead.

Politics, business, academia, and media all offer those without a belief in God the opportunity to think they control the universe (ye shall be as gods). For those less practical, the occult offers the opportunity to think one controls his own "local universe".

Media, movies.. people are so removed from reality today. Social media certainly doesn't help.

IMO, it is the cancer of radical individualism. Making yourself God. Serving yourself and your own self-interests. It is a selfishness that America has propagated for some time starting with the 60s and the sexual revolution all saying, "Be free! Be yourself! Let nothing hider your rights!"
