  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

what has God revealed to you in the past and present? let's share and learn from each other!

i got a couple:
suffering: it was a few years ago when i was watching a christian movie, the answer to "why does God allow sufferings" suddenly hit me. Suffering is caused by human actions, we cannot blame God because we bring it upon ourselves.

peace: i was quite irritated with a friend, then realising my mistake i prayed and a peace settled on me. wow, it was so profound!

joy: my spirituality was drying up, when i accidentally came across a book that bought joy to heart, real joy! it's hard to describe...
oh, and my weaknesses too eg, impatience

I think I've said this one before God is not an obligation but a best friend. :)

That's so true. People often mistake God/Jesus as someone the are obligated to follow. He isn't, he is someone who will walk you hand and hand to the pearly gates because 1) He loves us unconditionaly 2) He cares for us more than we will ever know 3) He doesn't want ANYONE to perish into hell and 4) Because he wants to!
