This is an open thread to discuss the last book of the bible: Revelation.

I believe Genesis, The Gospel of Jesus, and Revelation, are the most important parts of the bible.

Revelation is one of the most controversial and least discussed parts of the bible.

It explains the end of world happening before Jesus Christ returns and brings Heaven down to the world.

I believe Mystery Babylon = United States. The Beast = United Nations.

Obama = Anti-Christ. Pope Francis = False Prophet.

Am I under the impression that the United States will be attacked soon, by a foreign country, in the form of Nuclear Attack.

Revelation 17:

5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

The United States. A nation of the world who has done more for the betterment of humanity than any other nation on earth is the :

and Abominations of the earth?

'Her' sins are nothing compared to most of the world's sins. "If I can find ten righteous men....." Heck, I can find at least ten on this very forum. Rediculous and meant to scare people. I think you need to find another candidate. imho

‘As long as you do not do it’? Could you please clarify? Perhaps we are just disagreeing on a basic issue like the definition of ‘homosexual’. Of course it is not a sin for a man to like another man! The sin is if he engages in any sort of sexual relationship with him.

Seriously? There's a lot wrong with them. Ever read the bible? This society is doomed. Christians already know that homosexuality is a sin. But if they have "Gay" friends they always want to be so liberal and start accepting them which is not okay.

I must disagree with you on these points. People all throughout history have tried to predict stuff like who the Antichrist would be and when the world would end (many were convinced it would be in their lifetimes). History has proven them wrong (for example, Martin Luther was convinced that the Pope of his time was the Antichrist).

About these people in particular, why on earth should Obama be the Antichrist and Francis the False Prophet? Countless more people have appeared in history who have been much worse than Obama (e.g., Hitler, Nero, etc.) and many more worse than Pope Francis (like almost all the other Popes before him — though the Catholic church is obviously a false religion which has greatly turned away from the Truth, there have been few times in history when it was this close to the Truth as it is now — or even Joseph Smith, Ellen White and Charles Russell).

Except for no.2, where are you getting that? lol I don't keep super close tabs on Francis but I haven't heard anything like this. Especially no.1?

"For that which is the beginning is also the end."- Jesus Christ. I truly believe that your God will end the world when he so desires, and that we won't really know when it will happen until it does. Yes, there will be signs such as the Antichrist and the false prophet (in Islam, everyone carries music in their ears when it happens), but until the Antichrist creates armies on all shores, and celestial beings pour out of the sky, we won't really know.

There was a guy at my church who was talking about how a lot of the prophecies in Revelation happened when Jerusalem was destroyed. He said that the time when the locusts were released from the bottomless pit matches the siege of Jerusalem when the Jews were acting weird and killing themselves over stupid things. He also said that the Mark of the Beast was roman emperor worship.

He said a lot of stuff along those lines. I'm not sure what I think about it but it did make some sense.

That could be a possibility. However, I find a number of problems with preterism, the theory that the events prophesied in Revelation took place in the first century. Many of the things in the book of Revelation have obviously not actually yet taken place.

The book of Revelation really is mysterious . I believe it takes the Holy Spirit to understand the things in it. I try to read it from time to time, but there is just so much there . for now, I focus on other things, preaching the gospel of Jesus to people around me . God bless you
