Rev. Jimmy Swaggart taken to hospital in critical condition​

BATON ROUGE, La. (WGMB) – The Rev. Jimmy Swaggart, 90, is in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest on Sunday, June 15, according to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries.

Family members said Swaggart, a prominent televangelist, was found around 8 a.m. at his home and was revived before being taken to the hospital.

Pastor Donnie Swaggart provided details about what happened to his father during a prayer service on Sunday night, explaining that he and his son Gabriel Swaggart had rushed to his father’s home that morning.

“He never regained consciousness,” Donnie Swaggart said. “We both took turns giving him chest compressions until EMT could get there. I’ve never seen so many people arrive at one time, and I want to thank them. They were able to get a heartbeat back. Right now, he is in ICU, and without a miracle, his time will be short. But we believe God — we’re not giving up.”

Swaggart remains in the ICU on Monday.

Swaggart is the leader of the SonLife Broadcasting Network and also the pastor of Family Worship Center.

At this time, there has been no change in Brother Swaggart’s condition. We continue to trust the Lord and give Him time to work, knowing that His ways are perfect.

We do ask that you keep Sister Swaggart in your prayers—these past two days have been especially difficult for her. Please also pray for the entire Swaggart family during this time. The family is grateful for your prayers, your support, and the love you’ve shown.

Pastor Donnie gave this health update on Brother Swaggart today at this morning's service.
He said it's not a matter of 'if', but 'when' his Dad will pass.

All the family has been called in; the focus now is to keep Brother Swaggart comfortable and surrounded in love during his last days.

Pastor Donnie asked for continued prayers for the Swaggart Family, especially for his mother, Frances.

Jimmy Swaggart went home to be with the Lord today.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8

Today, our hearts are heavy as we share that Brother Swaggart has finished his earthly race and entered into the presence of His Savior, Jesus Christ. Today was the day he has sung about for decades. He met his beloved Savior and entered the portals of glory. At the same time, we rejoice knowing that we will see him again one day.

For over seven decades, Brother Swaggart poured out his life preaching the gospel, singing songs of the faith, and pointing millions to the saving power of Jesus Christ and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. His voice echoed through nations, his music softened hearts, and his message never changed: Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

He was not just a preacher—he was a worshiper, a warrior, and a witness to the grace and mercy of God. He was a man whose faith was steadfast and always entered whatever door the Lord opened. And the Lord honored that faith.
