2 Timothy 2:15Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
17And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
False doctrines, particularly about the resurrection, overturn people's faith.
The resurrection and healings are not a mere matter of "Regeneration".
In biology, "Regeneration" requires that an organism be alive to begin with, but then lives to regrow tissue and cells.
In the Bible, the scriptures plainly tell us that Jesus was DEAD for three days. Dead is dead. Coagulation starts within a few hours, and within three days a person has no body heat left whatsoever.
There was no "regeneration".
The resurrection was a miracle.
Regeneration - Biology Regrowth of lost or destroyed parts or organs.
By definition, to say that it was "Regeneration", in a biological sense, denying "miracles", is a blatant denial that he was actually "Dead".
There are two times the word "regeneration" appears in the english translation of the Bible, and the first is actually a poor translation, which should have been "Rebirth" or "Resurrection." Really, both are poor translations, as the second is referring to sanctification of the mind, which is "renovation" and "restoraton".
paliggenesia - "rebirth", "renovation", "restoration"
None of that has any "biological" context of "cells and tissues healing themselves."
Belief that "God raised Jesus from the Dead," is absolutely essential to "Chrstendom".
Otherwise, their religion is vain.
They may as well be a muslim or some other pagan, because all they believe is "Jesus is a good teacher," and yet don't believe his testimony of himself that he rose from the dead. Not "almost dead", not "sick" and not "injured."
"I am he that liveth and was DEAD, and behold I am alive forevermore." (revelation 1:18)
And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. luke 18:33
After the resurrection, when Jesus appeared to the disciples, not only was he not "regenerated" in a biological sense, but his wounds were still visible, such that they could touch him and Thomas put his finger in the holes in his hands and in his side, and he has "flesh and bone," but there is no mention of blood.
39Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. Luke 24:39
25The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.
26And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you.
27Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
28And Thomas answered and said unto him, My LORD and my God. 29Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. John 20
Not only was there no "regeneration" of tissue, wounds being still open for a man to put his hands inside them, but moreover, there was no blood, because the blood had been offered to the Father.
As the "High Priest of our profession", Jesus had entred the TRUE Holy Place, "not without blood,"(Heb. 9:7) presenting himself to the father. As the "Lamb of God," he shed his blood for the remission of sin, and As the High Priest, he offered it to the Father, "blotting out the handwritting of ordinances", therefore, there is no blood when he appeared to the disciples.

Lazarus was also dead for at least 4 days before Jesus raised him.
Not only was he not "regenerating," he was rotting.
Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. jn. 11:39
There is even the possibility that Lazarus was actually "medically dead" for much longer, perhaps as much as seven days. IN verse 17, it states that Lazarus had been in the grave for four days already, and people rarely bury thier dead in a hury, plus in the ancient world, it could sometimes be required to wait a few days to see if someone was "really" dead or whether they were just in a coma or some other illness.
The reason Jesus was buried in such haste is because the next day was the sabbath, and in the Jewish calendar, the equivatlent of "24 hour day" actually starts at night, and they recon time from 6:00am to 6:00pm. So the sabbath starts at 6:00pm. Jesus died at 3:00pm, the time of the "evening sacrifice", and they were in a hurry to get him buried.
So again, Jesus was dead for 3 days, no pulse, no breath, no blood, cold, dead. Then God raised him from the Dead.
The resurrection cannot be explained by physics or biology, because it is a direct divine intervention which supercedes the laws of nature.
And belief in this fact IS the "Gospel", as the Gospel, and really the entirety of the Bible has but one topic: Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he died on a Cross and rose from the dead on the third day to save, heal, forgive, justify, sanctify, redeem, and all those other Biblical words that people don't understand.
This divine resurrection is the proof that the sacrifice was sufficient and that it was recieved. As Paul said, without the resurrection, "why stand we in peril every hour? Let us eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die."
But thank God that Jesus was Dead, but now he is alive forevermore.
