You know I am glad I had this given to me. It has been a hope and a great joy in my time. Many people call the resurection of Jesus to only be a figure of speach. Many others still don't know what its importance is. I at one time didn't know the importance.
I can tell you for sure it did happen. But do you know why? It was for our justification. You see...with the sacrifices made in times past there was a rememberance made of sins every year. In other words, the sins of the past were forgiven at the sacrifice, but after it was done there was no priest to offer the same blood for the sins of the future. So the blood then offered only covered the sins of the past because the priest could only go in one time a year. After a year the priest would go in again with another sacrifice and the sins of the past would be forgiven again.
But the sins were in need of another payment each year. That means every year the people were unclean before God. Because those sacrifices could not continualy make the people clean due to the fact that the high priest could only offer for the sins of the past and for the time he was in the holy of holies. When he came out there was no more intersetion for the people.
But Jesus came and offered His own clean blood. It was worth more than all others. The blood was for our payment. But the resurection was for our justification. You see, the blood shed on the alter had to be taken to the holy of holies to be offered for the sins of the people. So when He was raised from the dead, it means He is alive forever. And He went in and sat down at the right hand of God. There He makes intersetion for us as our high priest. But He will never die and will never come out of the holy of holies. So He not only offers the blood for the sins of the past, but for all time. So there is never a time when we are not clean before God. Our Jesus has us covered as long as He is there.
I am so thankfull for that. It gives me hope. What do you think?
