anyone know any good sites to get wording tips on resumes?

a job in a totally different field has come my way-- I am trying to redo my resume to fit the new feild and am having a rough time with wording.

I had my resume professionally redone last Sept and was hoping to fix it up myself.

any links-- sites would be great.

I don't know how technically adept you are, but computer geeks like the Resume package in LaTeX. I use it for my resume and it looks really clean and professional. I'd never get it looking like it does now with M$ Word, even with the finished product sitting in front of me.

BJ, this site has a "how-to" guide on resumes, and step 6 has a link to a list of "power words" and verbs. You mentioned you wanted help with wording, so perhaps it'll be useful to you.

Have you tried www.careerbuilder.com? They usually have some great tips. Also, you may want to check out the following:

www.monstertrak.com (you may have to sign up for some services, however, but they are very good and offer practical advice in many areas...

Have you looked at the book "What Color is Your Parachute?" there might be some stuff in that.

Great posting guys, I wish I knew about this when I was applying for the internship I have now. Will definitely use it when I start applying for entry level.

I recommend the book "Knock 'Em Dead". There is one specificallly feared towards resumes but I used the book geared to the entire job seeking process (there is a new one every year). I really do credit it for getting my last two jobs.
