It has become quite obvious that those who make the claim that the Law of God has been done away with are preaching a gospel that is foreign to the Bible. Of course, what I mean by the Law of God is the Ten Commandments.

Nowhere in the Bible will you find evidence that they have been done away with. Yet, these lawless ones thrive on using the writings of Paul to support their lawless gospel while failing to discern that it was Paul who said:

Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. (Rom 3:31)

So it appears to me that Paul wouldn’t agree with these lawless ones.

So why do you suppose they are so vehement about trying to get rid of the law?

In all honesty, if the Law of God has been thrown out what then do these lawless ones do with passages like this?

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. (Jer 31:33)

In other words, if the Law of God has been done away with under the new covenant then why would God put it in the heart?

Oh, but then these enemies of the faith will argue that the law spoken of here has nothing to do with the Ten Commandments. Well, if that is the case then what other law could it be, and do the Ten Commandments really oppose such a law?

We must keep in mind that this passage is written within the context of God's moral law, which identifies those who truly belonged to Him.

What it all comes down to is that these lawless ones just want to pick and choose what they want to follow from the Bible. They want to serve God in bits and pieces, so to speak. They don’t want the whole person of Christ, they just want to take His name. For, if they truly want to serve God did they wouldn’t be fighting against Him by trying to throw out His moral law, which in essence is a transcript of His character!

So if they throw out the Law of God as such, then what does that say about what they are attempting to do with God?

I am tired of hearing their complaints about God's Law. It's always the same story. They say law only condemns. Well if it only condemned then how could the psalmist take delight in it?

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. (Psa 40:8)

You see, it’s all a matter of how you look at it. If you look at the Law of God from the perspective of one that does not want to keep it then of course it will condemn you; but if you look at it from the perspective of one who delights in doing the will of God, then you will find no reason to complain about it.

Let’s face it folks, the Bible makes it very clear that the Law of God hasn't been done away with; rather, it has been placed somewhere else--within the heart. And when the Law of God is written on the heart it no longer condemns.

For, then a person that has gone from living a self-centered life to becoming a believer in Jesus Christ takes delight in obeying the Law of God, whereas before when he didn't understand it he thought it to be a burden because it interfered with all that he loved to do outside of God; but now that he abides in Christ he no longer thinks this way; rather, he now loves to do those things that are pleasing to God, not because he is trying to secure salvation in them, but simply because he fosters a genuine love for God.

For the saving grace of God was manifested to all men, teaching us, that denying the impiety and the worldly desires, soberly and righteously and piously we may live in the present age, waiting for the blessed hope and manifestation of the glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who did give himself for us, that he might ransom us from all lawlessness, and might purify to himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works;
these things be speaking, and exhorting, and convicting, with all charge; let no one despise thee!
(Tit 2:11-15)

Since I can't debate in the Trad sub-forum, I'm posting my response here. The premise of the above post is a strawman. None of us are saying that the Law of God has been done away with. Thus, that whole thread is based on a fallacious argument.
