Just a suggestion from a professional statistician. If you are really trying to collect data for research then I recommend you define exactly what you mean by the word homosexual in the survey. If you do not, you data will not really be valid since the word is used differently by different people.

Does homosexual mean persons who experience same sex attraction.

or does homosexual mean persons who have sex with their same sex.

I think if you define the terms and ask the question from both perspectives you will collect some data with great potential for meaningful analysis.

Under the demographic data, you might also include a question that asks what religion a person belongs to and perhaps another question that asks their age range.

I have not completed the survey, but would if the terms were defined so I knew exactly what the questioner intended.

Also, I am curious why you did not include transexuals since they seem to also be normally included under the GBLT umbrella.

If these issues are addressed I think you have a great survey. I would be happy to speak by PM, or on this forum, if you want to talk about the design of surveys and my above comments.

The only people I see trying to make homosexual relate specifically to a singular action are those engaged in the advocating of discrimination.

Ok, If you say so. However, that was not the point of my post. Do you always look for the negative in people?

I am a professionally trained statistician and I was trying to help. So much for that.

Manipulate the findings however you like.

No, that's stupid. Define what you mean by homosexuality please, Mr. OP then I can complete the survey.

Thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it. Since we're only using this data to get some general ideas on homophobia and religiosity I'm not really worrying about certain things that we will specify later. Thank you again for your assistance :)

Fine, if it's that big of an issue:

Homosexual:

1. anybody who scores 5-6 on the Kinsley scale
2. anybody who identifies themselves as homosexual
3. anybody who experiences same sex attraction more than 50% of the time
