Hi, My name is Alan. I have been a member of these forums for only a short time so far.
I had a very clean, constructive, and polite thread where I stated that I was available for questions or debate on almost any subject matter. My post was deleted, as I was told, because it did not comply with the terms of use. I think the interpretation of the terms were vaguely used, but I agree with the moderator that removed my post if it did not follow the terms of use. However, that is now why I'm posting here.
I am an atheist. That is my belief. Not allowing atheist to make threads based on or around atheistic questions or debate is discrimination. I understand there are rules in place. I'm asking those rules to be reviewed. I will comply with the current rules, as best I can, until they change, and I will adhere to those new rules.
Not allowing me to express myself based upon my beliefs, is discrimination (so long as I am polite and respectful of course).
Why am I not allowed to post threads based upon my beliefs? I was informed by Tishri1 that those rules are there to protect Christians. I submit that the rule in place is not there to protect, but censors and is discriminatory of my beliefs. What exactly do the Christians on these forums need to be protected from? Are they that open to change their minds on their beliefs? I don't believe so. Even if they are, that doesn't seem to be a particularly dangerous scenario.
While bringing forward a potential problem, as a forum user, I wanted to bring up a possible solution. We could have our own sub-forum section. We could call it "Alternative Beliefs" if you so desire. It would give people of all beliefs a place on the forums to express who they are in a constructive way and thus ending the discrimination. There would also need to be revisions of the rules that would allow non-Christians to post Q and A, or debate threads in that sub-forum. Of course it would all need to be respectful.
I thank everyone for their time. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
