• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

This may or may not be the right place to post this, but I feel led to do so. I hope that is o.k. My uncle, whom I am close to, is in the hospital tonight. He has been given only a 5% chance to survive massive heart damage and hepatitis from years and years of on again/off again drug use. We have prayed so many times for him to finally be free from this enemy of using substances when life goes wrong for him. Now, we just need prayer that he will LIVE so he can break free once and for all. I lost my husband 5 yrs. ago because a young man, high on meth., shot him. He left behind a very young widow with three very little children. Our family has been hurt enough by substance abuse. We really need the Lord to step in and help us through this next struggle. Any prayers from those who understand would be appreciated. God bless.

Dear Lord, I pray that faithgoeson uncle would recover from his heart problems. I pray also for his family that you would comfort them. I pray that he would be free of his addiction. Oh Lord we know you work miracles and what man says isn't always right, and we pray that he would survive this Lord. Thank you, In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Just an update. God certainly does have a better plan for my uncle. He was given only a 5% chance to survive surgery. God turned that into 100%. He is surviving and healing. The doctor says another 5 minutes, and he would have died. We now must pray for deliverance once and for all from drug use. I know the Lord has a purpose for him. He just needs to be free of this bondage now. Thanks again for the prayers.

Just another update. He is home now and trying to recover. We don't know if his symptoms are withdrawal or from such a near-death experience or what. He keeps seeing people, Christian people, who have died. He's talking to them. He sees people on my dad's side of the family, who he doesn't even really know because he's my mom's brother. People he hasn't seen since he was a little boy even. He says they are angels. He's also saying he's up all night trying to keep the monkeys from crawling on him! He's recovering from the heart problem, but he sure needs alot more prayer. Thank you all for praying.

What awesome news! I will be praying for your uncle and yours - praying, also, that he will be relived from all the strange things he is seeing. Have you asked his doctor about it?
God bless you and yours. Hedi

The doctor said withdrawal will make you see all kinds of strange things. I am sure that's where the monkeys came from. He's over that stage now, though. We're praying he will be strong and resist temptations being thrown at him from everywhere. Thank you all for caring so much. God bless.
