  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a friend who owns a business, recently he has made some very unwise decisions, and is now pretty far in debt with his company. Getting out has so far been very difficult. He is extremely stressed out right now, he has a wife and kids to worry about. He even complained of chest pains today (sign of possible heart attack). So please pray for John, that he takes care of his health in this situation, and that he would seek God for both understanding and for redemption of his finances/company. He really needs to see God pull through for him, which I believe would draw him much closer to Christ. Thanks for your prayers.

Hey Dave, I to have a business that has struggled at times, and i know the feeling of having a family to worry about. Their are alot of ways to manage your finances so that you can keep your head above water, but the most important thing is to try not to let the problems get you down. I pray that your friend will work things out. If you don't mind me asking what kind of business is he in? God Bless

for jesus,

it is the used car business. that has enough trouble of its own. he is a relatively new christian, he came to faith through his babysitter, who invited his family to church. I have many aspirations of private buiness ownership myself, and I work for a privately owned finance company now.

Thanks for your prayers for John.

Praying for John. The business world can be a tuff world to be in. It's surely not worth having a heart attack over. He needs to figure a way to "detach" himself spiritually from the business and it's problems. #1 on my list would be to get an attorney. If he is hopelessly in debt, with no assets to bail him out, then bankruptcy could give him the relief he needs.

thanks for your prayers. so far it looks like they won't sell the business, and john's wife might get a job (reluctantly). he went to the doctor today for testing (thank God). We will see what the doc says, and John is taking tomorrow off to have a good long weekend.
