  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had two iguanas when I was in the military, but then the barracks policy changed and reptiles weren't allowed so I had to find them a home. They were Tigger and Piglet. Piglet because the pet store mistreated them and he had a crushed nose from running into the glass.

I am looking into keeping retiles. I have two cats and so gerbils, hamsters, and birds are all out....even rabbits which I love are out. I have been keeping fish since I was 12..and had a big map turtle I caught as a baby in the wild...his name was Iggy...but he eventually outgrew his 50 gal tank...so I had to let him go. He was cool....but very very dity...as I had to clean his filters every day. I probably will never own another aquatic turtle again. Any hints on how to keep reptiles?

Haha, broad question.

Generally, you need a substrate on the ground (ususally wood chips), water (ie small container), some sources of shade (they sell little huts for snakes to go into and these need cavish things for lizards, though I suppose a snake could use it too). Really, just get an appropriate type of bedding, water and some source of shade (oh, heat too of course! pet store will show you the appropriate bulb) and the rest is just decorative.
