This will be a test for what I hope will continue to be a weekly thing here in the Repaholics Sub-Forum. This raffle will run until this Friday and the pay out for it will occur on Saturday and Sunday before Midnight on Sunday evening.

Here's how it will work, to enter, first you will need to rep this account (only once per week that you enter) and then post once (note, you only need to post once) saying that you are entering and how many entries you wish to get.

Each entry is a commitment to rep the winner. You can get up to 80 entries (since the payout period is two days) and must follow through with repping the winner or you will be blacklisted from the Raffle in the future.

Every person who enters will receive a rep.

The winner will be selected at random by a computer program.

Whoever wins will receive 80 reps from this account and all the reps that were entered by others. If you win, and obviously can't rep yourself, your pledged reps go to this account.

Winners will be announced after midnight Friday night.

This is a test run, so if there are serious kinks, we will work them out as we go.

Ok, so.... We rep you (the OP) for each entry we make... so let's say I enter 2 times.
I rep you twice... you pick the winner at the end of the week.
then I'd have to rep the winner 2 times (per entry)? or just once?

You would only rep the OP once. It is a flat entry fee for each raffle no matter how many times you enter that week. Then when the winner is announced, you would rep them for each entry. If you gave 2 entries, you would rep them twice.

The one rep for the OP is just to make me able to give a good sized prize to the winner. With almost all of my reps tied up everyday, I figured making a new account just for the raffle would be a good idea.

Ok, I see. thanks for the details Bella - ya I think a new acct. mite be a good idea if your other is tied up w/ repping. I know that feeling well.
Is there anything else that is unclear?

This is pretty helpful to me because now I know what I need to edit and explain more clearly.

I'm not sure I understand the "entries" we make. Is it like this?
  1. Rep the OP as your entrance fee
  2. Post at least one and up to 80 separate posts in the thread. These are your "entries" into the raffle.
  3. Each post not only is a chance for you to win the raffle, but is a promise that you will rep the winner.
  4. Thus, if you post 20 times, you have 20 tries in the raffle, and you will be committing to rep the winner 20 times during the two-day payout period. If you post 70 times, you have 70 chances, and are committing to rep the winner 70 times during the two-day payout period.
Or do we just make one entry, saying how many tries/committed reps we are providing? I assume there will be a separate payout thread where the winner of the raffle will post 80 posts so we can all rep her/him?
