I beleive in one water baptism for the forgiveness of sins be that infant or adult, a mere sprinkling or full immersion as long as it is done acknowledging Christ and in his name.

The catholic church has the sacrement of penance and reconcilliation that it can offer to those who think they have gone so far beyond the pale the old baptism vows could do with a good redoing. Likewise the anglican church offer a ministry of reconcilliation and welcome back for those like the lost son who wonder far far away.

Other denominations have public professions and so on but I know less of this.

I was called reprobate by christians for decades; thankfully the love of God is so great even if a person tries to go as far from God as its possible for any of us to imagine God is still there.

If a person is capable of repenting and turning back to Christ then God is more than gracious enough to extend forgiveness through Christ.

No one needs to be baptized again (as long as the first baptism was done in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost). God is the one at work at baptism and He did it right the first time. No need to insult him and think a do-over is needed.

How to be saved again? Well, don't look at it as salvation or faith...look to the Savior, the one who redeems you! Our Christ Jesus died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. Repent and be saved.

Hi,
I was just wondering how does someone get out of the reprobate condition/reprobate mind and be saved again?

Really, only God can move someone from a reprobate condition into one that honors Him. I don't believe, however, that a saved person who becomes reprobate loses their salvation. God doesn't take all the initiative and responsibility for saving us (which He does) and then leave us to keep ourselves saved. This is a completely unbiblical idea which seriously misunderstands the basis of our salvation and the responsibility God assumes in continuing our walk with Him. Adoption into God's family is something God accomplishes for us and it is, therefore, not something we can revoke or abandon. God's eternal salvation does not rest upon human weakness and frailty, upon the vacillations of human faith and will. It rests upon His absolute sovereignty and unchanging love. Anyone who tells you that one who is genuinely saved can simply walk away from what God has done in redeeming them is giving themself far more power in their relationship with God than they actually have.

Would that person have to be baptised again? Would God forgive them if they repent?

My wife who was raised Catholic and was sprinkled as a baby was baptized again by full immersion as an adult in recognition of the fact that baptism is symbolic of a person's death, burial and resurrection with Christ (Ro. 6) through faith in him as their Saviour. A baby is not capable of such faith and sprinkling does not properly symbolize the union of the believer in Christ's death, burial and resurrection.

God always extends forgiveness to those who are willing to confess their sin and repent of it. Christ's payment for our sin was perfect; there is nothing more that God requires as payment for our sin. Thus, when you go to God for forgiveness, He extends it willingly because the payment of your sin was fully satisfied by Christ.

Selah.

First, a person can only be truly saved ONE TIME ; if that person was truly saved then entered into a time of going back to worldly living (which is what describes a reprobate mind ) then all they need do is as 1 John 1:9 says to do : To confess that sin or drifting away and to put those sins and reprobate minded condition under the blood of Jesus , then ask for cleansing from it.

No need to get baptized again . Gods mercy is so great that he is waiting to forgive our sins if we are willing to turn from them whether we are already saved, or not. Its all done thru what Christ has done on the cross and not what we can do to atone for our personal sins. Gods free grace and mercy is something we could never contribute to thru offering up 'our good works' . God forgives all who repent and who trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross...we just have to recieve HIS merits unto our account.

Those who are saved do not become reprobate.

Those you are reprobate have never really been saved, and can be saved as the rest of mankind is saved, by obedient faith in Jesus Christ.

rep·ro·bate

noun 1. a depraved, unprincipled, or wicked person: a drunken reprobate.

2. a person rejected by God and beyond hope of salvation.

Technically, you are correct ... however the Saved Person CAN and sometimes DOES fall away and The BIble tells us that when we see such a thing occuring that we should lovingly go to that Person and show them their sin in hopes they will depart from it and get on the right road again. Sometimes Christian CAN become unprincipled and resort back to our depraved nature ... but hopefully.... not for long . If a Person who professes to be a Christian yet continually chooses to live like a person of the World by making a lifestyle out of it.... then according to 1 Corinthians chapter 6 and Ephesians chapter 5 , they are disqualified from reaching Heaven . Yet Gods mercy is still offered and available to that Person so long as they CHOOSE to depart from their wickedness/immorality/depraved mindset and into reconcilation with God thru the shed blood of Christ.

CG,

Please don't listen to the discouragement from those who misinterpret the difficult Hebrews passages. If you sincerely care enough to want God again, He is going to accept you back.

Just go back to the basics. Make the Good Confession of Rom 10.6-10. Confess your sins as according to 1jn 1.9. Remember the father who saw the prodigal son coming back home from a long way off (Lk 15). The Lord's love and mercy are far above anything we can imagine.

As for baptism, there is no need to do it over, though I'm not opposed to doing so if one feels it would be positive.

Trust in the grace of God, and go confidently to the throne of grace for help in time of need. Our salvation does not rest on our merits, but on His. Thank God for that!

God never rejects us, we have to reject Him.

A reprobate mind is one that can no longer turn from sin and so they
are not able to repent as they have rejected God as their moral
authority and have rejected His plans for their life.

rep·ro·bate NOUN: A morally unprincipled person.
ADJECTIVE: Morally unprincipled; shameless.

So, how can a person who rejects God's right to impose
His moral authority upon their life, repent?

Jesus and His disciples made it clear that we must repent or
turn away from our sin and receive Jesus Christ as our right standing before
God and scripture also states that those who once were saved
and then again reject God and then turn back to sin as their life style
and choice over God's way, are not able to repent again.

They are not able to repent.....
It isn't that God rejects anyone but that a person has chosen their
sins over God and have rejected salvation and forgiveness in Jesus Christ.

God never rejects anyone.

So....if any person still desires to turn from sin and turn back to God,
they are not reprobate, they have not crossed the line where they
are no longer able to repent and turn back to God.

So for those who are not hopelessly of a reprobate mind, they can come
back to God and simply turn away from sin, confess their sins and ask for forgiveness
in Christ and simply believe and receive God's forgiveness that is freely given to all
who ask for it.

Here is a prayer for whoever needs to come back to the Lord....

Father God, have mercy upon me, a sinner.
I now repent, turn away from and denounce my life of sin.
I want to be forgiven and empowered to live my life for You.

I believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son and that He died on the cross
and shed His blood and died for me and my sins so I could be forgiven.

I believe that Jesus christ died and was burried and rose again from the
dead by the power of the Holy Spirit and now sits on Your right hand.

Jesus, Come into my heart and forgive me of all my sins by the
power of Your shed blood when You gave up Your life for me
and paid the debt I owed for my sins so that I could be forgiven.

I invite you Jesus into my heart as my personal Savior and I will follow
You the rest of my life as my Lord.

Forgive me and remove all my sins from me now and fill me with Your
Holy Spirit so that I may live my life for you and have eternal life in Your kingdom to come.

Your Word says you'll never turn anyone away and that includes me so I know
now that You have heard me and I know now that I am forgiven and saved from
judgement and have eternal life because You Jesus, are my Lord and savior.

Thank you Jesus, for saving my soul.

The problem with the definitions given so far is that it's not typically how "reprobate" is used in theology. The most common use is in the context of Calvinism. In that use, the reprobate are those who are not elect, i.e. who are not going to end up being saved. By definition you can't get out of being reprobate, since the definition is based on your final destination. Reprobation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. But it's something we won't know until the end (although God doesn't have that limitation).

However Wikipedia is right that although we can't know whether someone is reprobate, there are signs. They say "Similarly, when a sinner is so hardened as to feel no remorse or misgiving of conscience, it is considered as a sign of reprobation." I agree with this. Someone who is hardened could still repent. God isn't going to refuse anyone who is really repentant. But there are people who are sufficiently hardened that it's nearly impossible that they'll do that.
