  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I believe you have found the fault in the foundation of dispensational theology. I thank God for opening your eyes. A friend made this comment to me when he came to understand what you have, " it is as though someone has stolen my Bible and given me a new one."

Awesome post, and written very well.

Although I couldn't put it into words, what you posted was the very reason I gave up my belief in dispensationalism a while ago. I'm so glad you have finally "seen" it. It's a relief to know that salvation and the gospel is in fact simple, and not so complicated as the dispensationalists make it.

Of course, now you have to go back and re-read the bible again without the dispensationalist colored glasses on! It'll be fun! :)

Much love,
windi

It's like the scaffolding of dispensationalism fell away, really. Without emotion, I had an experiance of understanding and see how wrong I've been.

Excuse me but is this JMWHALEN? No I see this is StreetPreacher. I am ecstatic to see you here and to read what you have now seen, JM.

Good Day, JM,SP,RB

^_^ ^_^

I know you have been working though this issue for a long time, and I have tried my very best to keep you in my thoughts as it relates to this issue.

I am not smart enough or have the desire to partake in these kinds of disscussions, "yet".

I am very happy to see God has granted to you the end of a long learning process.

In Him,

Bill

Jesus is Reigning Now
Really! 1000 well written words when you could have left it here. ;)

I used to tell my opponents that this is "basic gospel stuff." It drove them nuts, but it is true. Where was this good news for Israel? It couldn't be salvation for the sheep already had it. It couldn't be a reigning King thousands of years in the future for what kind of good news is that. It was...

The Kingdom of God is at hand.

If/when you feel you dislike 'theology' just stick to reading God's word alone for awhile! That will bring Him more clearly into focus and all of man's thoughts to fall away! It is His Word, His ideas, His plan for our life that we need to know well! God bless, soli deo gloria!

The more I read and study, the more I dislike theology.

Good. Now you're ready for discipleship.

Theology would be a good thing if it wasn't a common replacement for discipleship. I don't mean discipleship as in having a friend who watches your every move and tells you about Jesus - I mean the state of living one's life as a disciple of Jesus. Since truly being a disciple is a submissive act, it is not something we are in control of. If we try to be, we wreck the point of being engaged by God. Theology is, unfortunately more often than not, an attempt to control discipleship through attempts to gather the largest wealth of related information and having a perceived deeper understanding of it. In the same way science becomes sinful, not because it replaces our Story, but because it is an attempt to put us in control. Theology is merely another science by which we unfortunately often succeed in holding true and deep discipleship at bay,
