  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just ask for forgiveness, trust the Bible where God says he forgives and have faith in the source of Jesus who cleanses us from our sins... INCLUDING divorce and adultery.
Jesus said that lusting equates to adultery and if that is forgivable so is divorce/remarriage.

I’m not sure if this is the right thread to post this in but I was really seeking wisdom on how would one repent from an adulterous remarriage according to the Scriptures?
David wrote psalm 51. But then he had not only done adultery, but also had the husband killed in addition, so that's both adultery and murder.

But, after David repented, and paid a price, then with Bathsheba, whom he had stolen from Uriah, the line continued in Solomon, and that line continued to Mary and Joseph, the Earthly parents of Christ.

The way we repent is to confess to God our wrong. Psalm 51 NIV is a powerful example.

Read 1 John 1 NIV to see what happens as soon as a believer in Christ confesses.

For some, it may be that the previous marriage is still the one that has the true bond and love, and one might return to it, but that won't always be the case. Sometimes it's not even possible, or sometimes that previous marriage itself had such a breaking of the bond that the bond isn't there anymore.
