I was gone for a couple of hours and you guys chatted for 20 pages of posts!!!

We just had one of the sweetest evenings. A friend of ours turned 33 today, only she has melanoma cancer that has spread to her brain, abdomen, etc. and they said with hospice maybe 6 months. She has two little boys, 5 and 6.5 that have never roller skated. So tonite, we had a huge skating party for her so she could take her boys skating. I think 50+ people from our little church were there.

She has two little boys, 5 and 6.5 that have never roller skated. So tonite, we had a huge skating party for her so she could take her boys skating. I think 50+ people from our little church were there.

Yes, it is very sad but let me tell you, this young woman is such an inspiration to everyone. It is so awesome to see this family's faith through this adversity. You see them and even though it is one of the saddest things I have ever had to experience, you cannot help but praise God for His provision for them even still.

this has been one of the funniest stretches of fellowshipping that I've encountered to date.

before we leave the discussion of vacuums forever - one of the ladies I work with just got a roomba

I don't know which model she got (and it really doesn't matter) but it is really cool - it goes around corners and furniture, it keeps itself from falling down the stairs, if the batteries get low it docks itself, fits under furniture without having to move everything - all in all pretty darn neat. Oh - and my friend has 2 dogs and 2 cats - the roomba keeps up with them.

They make one to clean out raingutters - I'm thinking my DH would love that.

melanoma can be an awful cancer - because it can spread pretty quickly.

What a wonderful thing for your church to do for this woman - I'm sure the memory will bring comfort to her and her family in the months to come

Praying that God give them both strength and a sense of peace as they walk the difficult path He has laid out in front of them.

Oh, how awful, but what a wonderful thing for you all to do.

I don't have much experience with melanoma, but I know when the doctor gave my father maybe 6 months to live, it ended up being almost a year and a half.

I will keep her and her family in my prayers.
