CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

2b4m - I'm sorry you're not feeling well - I was going to be a tad jealous that you went out to eat - but when you said it wasn't agreeing with you had to rethink my position
Minor vent here - DH works on Friday evenings. A few days ago he told me that he traded tonight for tomorrow night and that he'd take me out tonight for a Valentine's dinner. My d-i-l's church has a fish fry on Friday's during lent and she and I had already made plans to attend that - which I told DH (and of course invited him). Anyhow - Kellie canceled today so I called Joe and told him we didn't need to go to the fish fry. He says ok - we'll go someplace else.
About 10 minutes later he calls me at work and tells me that he's just going to have leftovers - so I might want to pick up something for myself on my way home from work.
So much for our Valentine's dinner (I ended up making myself a bowl of oatmeal)

Even though I grumped it was ok staying home - we'll do something another night.
And he did bring me flowers and chocolate covered pretzels on valentines' day - I really have nothing to complain about
